A measuring tape for measuring the size of limbs or waists is provided with a tape head capable of being stably inserted into a positioning hole during measurement and being automatically ejected out of the positioning hole after measurement, and includes a shell, and a cavity formed in the shell and used for receiving a flexible rule. An elastic switch assembly for clamping the tape head in the positioning hole is disposed at a position, close to the positioning hole, in the cavity. The elastic switch assembly and a leaf spring are disposed in the positioning hole, allowing the tape head to be inserted thereinto, in the shell, such that the tape head can be stably disposed in the positioning hole after being inserted into the positioning hole, and will not slide out of the positioning hole when users observe measure data.

DEVICE FOR MEASURING THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF A CHILD'S HEAD
20170360330 · 2017-12-21 ·

A measurement device for measuring the circumference of a human head. The measurement device includes a generally circumferential body that fits around a human head. The generally circumferential body has a receiver segment with an elongated geometry. The receiver segment includes an adjustment end receiver. The receiver segment is flexible. The generally circumferential body also has an adjustment segment with a measurement end. The adjustment segment measurement end has a diameter that is narrower than the receiver segment adjustment end receiver diameter. The adjustment segment has a measurement indicator that extends from the measurement end. The adjustment segment is flexible. The adjustment segment measurement end is adjustably inserted into the receiver segment sliding end receiver. The visual measurement indicator is operable with respect to the receiver segment adjustment end receiver.

Optical readout device to provide visual information

An optical readout device for providing visual circumference and diameter readings of an object being measured by a linear tape. The tail end of the tape passes by a reader element in a digital device which is equipped electronically with the pi conversion factor to provide selective readings of diameter in English and metric units, as well as circumference readings. The device can be employed for external (outside) and internal (inside) measurements.

MAGNETIC DENDROMETER APPARATUS AND CORRESPONDING METHOD

Described herein is a magnetic dendrometer having a frame, a spring-tension mechanism, and a magnet for moving together with the spring-tension mechanism. A magnetic sensor is attached to the frame. The magnetic sensor senses the linear motion of the magnet. This linear motion translates to trackable fluctuations in magnetic field. The magnetic fluctuations are converted to electrical signals by the magnetic sensor. A spring is attached to a free-floating wishbone-style component. The free-floating wishbone-style component is coupled to a slider which has an adjustable, single-contact point with a target (e.g., a vine, a branch, etc.). The frame is a stationary frame that carries the magnetic sensor. The frame connected via the spring to the wishbone/slider combination cooperates with each other for providing linear motion to extend or contract the spring in length directions. The length variations of the dendrometer spring are converted to linear motion of the magnet and then into electronic signals.

Stagger Stick

Generally, a device to measure the circumference of circular objects. Specifically, a device including a pair of slidingly engaged members disposed between a pair of arms configured to be engaged with tread on a tire at about the midline of a wheel, an electrical circuit which varies in output voltage based on the distance between the pair of arms, and a processor communicatively coupled to a non-transitory computer readable medium containing a program which correlates the output voltage of the electrical circuit to a unit measure of distance between the pair of arms and calculates tire circumference.
