SENSOR-ENABLED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING THE HEALTH, CONDITION, AND/OR STATUS OF PAVEMENT AND VEHICULAR INFRASTRUCTURE
A sensor-enabled geogrid system for and method of monitoring the health, condition, and/or status of pavement and vehicular infrastructure is disclosed. In some embodiments, the sensor-enabled geogrid system includes a sensor-enabled geogrid that further includes a geogrid holding an arrangement of one or more sensors. The sensor-enabled geogrid system further includes a communication means or network for collecting information and/or data from the sensor-enabled geogrid about the health, condition, and/or status of the pavement and vehicular infrastructure. Further, a method of using the presently disclosed sensor-enabled geogrid system for monitoring the health, condition, and/or status of pavement and vehicular infrastructure is provided.
PACKAGE STRESS SENSOR
A semiconductor-based stress sensor can include a bipolar transistor device with first and second collector terminals. An excitation circuit can provide an excitation signal to an emitter terminal of the bipolar transistor device, and a physical stress indicator for the semiconductor can be provided based on a relationship between signals measured at the collector terminals in response to the excitation signal. The signals can indicate a charge carrier mobility characteristic of the semiconductor, which can be used to provide an indication of physical stress. In an example, the physical stress indicator is based on a current deflection characteristic of a base region of the transistor device.
DEFORMATION MEASURING DEVICE AND DEFORMATION MEASURING METHOD
A strain measuring device (100) is a strain measuring device (100) for measuring strain on an FEP (10), and includes a viscous body (101) that has a lower rigidity than the FEP (10) and covers an uneven surface of the FEP (10), and a strain gauge (102) that is attached to a portion of a surface of the viscous body (101).
DEVICE FOR CHECKING ARMOR
A device that includes a piece of armor made from a material that has a domain of plastic deformation under bad before breaking and an elastic deformation domain. The plastic deformation domain represents less than 1% of the elastic deformation domain. The device includes a deformation sensor fixed to the piece of armor and configured to deform plastically under the effect of at least a stress applied to the piece of armor and leading to damage of the piece of armor.
FRESHNESS INDICATION
Embodiments of the present invention relate to freshness indication. In some embodiments, a freshness indicating device is provided. The freshness indicating device comprises a collector and an indicator. The collector is adapted to collect water from an object. The object includes at least one of fruits and vegetables. The indicator is adapted to indicate the freshness of the object based on the amount of the collected water. A corresponding method and a container comprising the freshness indicating device are disclosed as well.
FABRIC WITH STRETCHABLE SENSORS FOR SHAPE MEASUREMENT
Disclosed embodiments provide a way to perform body measurements. A garment has a sensor module attached. The garment encompasses a body portion. The sensor module is stretchable and provides electrical data. The electrical data is based on an amount that the sensor module is stretched. The electrical data from the sensor module is collected. The collected electrical data is analyzed to determine a measurement for the body portion. A size for the body portion is calculated, based on the measurement. A second sensor module is attached to the garment. Electrical data from the second sensor is also collected and analyzed. A size for the body portion is further calculated based on the electrical data from the sensor module and the second sensor module. The sensor module and the second sensor module transmit data to a computing device using distinct, wireless transmitters.

MULTI-DIRECTIONAL CAPACITIVE FLOW SENSOR
A system and method for providing a fluid flow strain gauge that may be mounted inside a pipe and connected to a base unit that uses capacitive or resistive technology to determine a direction and a rate of flow of a fluid through the pipe by measuring the force applied to the strain gauge by the flow of fluid.
BEND SENSOR
A bend sensor comprising a sensor section in which a polymer electrolyte film is sandwiched between a pair of electrode films, wherein each of the electrode films contains: a block copolymer (Z) having a polymer block (S) composed of a structural unit derived from an aromatic vinyl compound, and containing an ion-conducting group, and an amorphous polymer block (T) composed of a structural unit derived from an unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon; and a conducting particle; which block copolymer (Z) forms a lamellar structure, which bend sensor therefore allows generation of enhanced voltage between the electrode films when deformation of the sensor occurs as it follows movement of an object, is provided.
