PROVIDING EARLY LANE NAVIGATION INFORMATION FOR A ROAD CONNECTING SUCCESSIVE INTERSECTIONS
A navigation prompt message method includes acquiring a planned driving path including a first intersection and a second intersection to be passed successively. The method further includes, in response to the second intersection being located within a distance threshold of the first intersection, acquiring lane information of a connecting road between the first intersection and the second intersection. In response to the second intersection being located within a distance threshold of the first intersection, the method further includes determining a recommended driving lane on the connecting road based on the lane information, and generating, before a vehicle passes through the first intersection, a navigation prompt message indicating the recommended driving lane the navigation prompt message guiding the vehicle to drive on the recommended driving lane after passing through the first intersection.
VEHICLE NAVIGATION APPARATUS
A vehicle navigation apparatus includes a vehicle navigation unit and a route guidance control unit. The vehicle navigation unit includes a route setting unit and a navigation control unit. The route setting unit sets a route to a destination point on the basis of information on a position of a vehicle, information on a destination point, and first map information stored in a storage. The navigation control unit performs guidance on the route and controls the form of displaying the route on a display. The route guidance control unit includes at least one processor determining the driving entity of a vehicle. In a case where the at least one processor determines that the driving entity of the vehicle is the vehicle itself and the vehicle deviates from the route, the at least one processor stops the guidance until the vehicle reaches a next waypoint of the route.
NAVIGATION DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD FOR NAVIGATION DEVICE, AND CONTROL PROGRAM FOR NAVIGATION DEVICE
A navigation device includes an image display unit and a display control unit for controlling the display of the image display unit. The display control unit displays, in the image display unit, a map on a fixed scale in the form of a bird's eye view in which the front of the vehicle is overlooked, and displays a moving route by a guide line on the map until the distance to a guide point becomes a first display switching determination distance, when the distance to the guide point becomes the first display switching determination distance or shorter, increases a scale as the guide point is approached, and when the distance to the guide point becomes a second display switching determination distance or shorter, stops the increase of the scale, and displays, in an area where the guide line is displayed, a mark indicating a path at the guide point.
Navigation application with novel declutter mode
Some embodiments provide a navigation application with a novel declutter navigation mode. In some embodiments, the navigation application has a declutter control that when selected, directs the navigation application to simplify a navigation presentation by removing or de-emphasizing non-essential items that are displayed in the navigation presentation. In some embodiments, the declutter control is a mode-selecting control that allows the navigation presentation to toggle between normal first navigation presentation and a simplified second navigation presentation, which below is also referred to as a decluttered navigation presentation. During normal mode operation, the navigation presentation of some embodiments provides (1) a representation of the navigated route, (2) representations of the roads along the navigated route, (3) representation of major and minor roads that intersect or are near the navigated route, and (4) representations of buildings and other objects in the navigated scene. However, in the declutter mode, the navigation presentation of some embodiments provides a representation of the navigated route, while providing a de-emphasized presentation of the roads that intersect the navigated route or are near the navigated route. In some embodiments, the presentation shows the major roads that are not on the route with more emphasis than minor roads not on the route. Also, in some embodiments, the presentation fades out the minor roads not on the route more quickly than fading out the major roads not on the route.
VEHICULAR VISION SYSTEM WITH REDUCED MEMORY FOR ADAPTABLE GRAPHIC OVERLAYS
A vehicular vision system includes a camera disposed at a vehicle, an electronic control unit, and a video display disposed in the vehicle. The system, responsive to processing of captured image data, displays video images on the video display. The system retrieves graphic overlay data from memory. The graphic overlay data represents a plurality of graphic overlay portions, with each graphic overlay portion being associated with a respective display portion of a plurality of display portions of the video display. Responsive to occurrence of a driving condition, the system retrieves graphic overlay data, displays the graphic overlay portions, and adjusts a transparency of one or more of the displayed graphic overlay portions such that at least one displayed graphic overlay portion is viewable by the driver and at least one other displayed graphic overlay portion is not viewable by the driver.
Guide voice output control system and guide voice output control method
A guide voice output control system includes a voice output control unit having a function of outputting a guide voice in response to a trigger and a function of executing interaction related processing having a reception stage for receiving voice, a recognition stage for recognizing voice, and an output stage for outputting voice based on a recognition result, in which the voice output control unit controls the output of the guide voice according to the processing stage of the interaction related processing when the trigger is generated during the execution of the processing, and dynamically controls the output of the guide voice according to whether or not the processing stage is a stage that does not affect the accuracy of voice recognition or listening difficulty of a user even if the guide voice is output.
Displaying maneuvering instructions along a route
A method is provided for a navigation device to display maneuvering instructions along a route, involving: displaying a digital map in a perspective manner on a display unit of the navigation device; according to the distance of the navigation device from the location of the maneuver, i.e. the location where a maneuver is to be carried out as per the route: displaying first maneuvering instructions for the maneuver when the navigation device is farther from the location of the maneuver than a predefined distance; displaying second maneuvering instructions instead of the first maneuvering instructions for the maneuver when the navigation device is closer to the location of the maneuver than the predefined distance; the first and second maneuvering instructions being displayed in such a way as to cover up a portion of the displayed digital map; displaying a graphic link between the location of the maneuver on the digital map and the first or second maneuvering instructions.
Vehicle navigation device
The vehicle navigation device guides a user of a vehicle to a destination. The vehicle navigation device includes a car navigation system that acquires the destination, a head-up display that displays various information, and a body ECU that controls the information displayed on the head-up display based on the destination acquired by the car navigation system. The body ECU is configured to cause, on the assumption that the user alights from the vehicle at a current location, the head-up display to display post-alighting guidance information which is information for guiding the user to the destination regarding, for example, walking.

A control method and control system of a mobile device perform a route guidance and POI guidance using a POI database for a commercial navigation and a POI database for AR, and enable seamless transition between commercial navigation services and AR services by removing the dependency of data through data exchange between the POI database for commercial navigation and the POI database for AR. The control method includes receiving a selection of destination; executing one of a first route guidance mode based on non-AR and a second route guidance mode based on AR, based on the selected destination; and providing a route guidance service based on AR by switching from the first route guidance mode to the second route guidance mode, in response to that a remaining distance or remaining time from a location of the mobile device to the selected destination approaches within a predetermined distance or predetermined time.
Presenting Transit Alight Notifications
In some implementations, a computing device can present alight notifications to a user when the user (e.g., user device) is approaching a public transit stop where the user should depart the public transit vehicle the user is currently occupying. For example, a user may use a user device to generate a public transit route that includes a starting location, a sequence of public transit stops, and a destination location. While traversing the transit route, the user may need to exit public transit vehicle (e.g., to reach the destination location, to switch transit lines, etc.). The user device can identify transit stops along the route where the user should exit a transit vehicle and present notifications prompting the user to exit the transit vehicle at the upcoming stop as the user device approaches the identified transit stops.
