A computer-implemented method for predicting properties of a plurality of objects in a vicinity of a vehicle includes multiple steps that can be carried out by computer hardware components. The method includes determining a grid map representation of road-users perception data, with the road-users perception data including tracked perception results and/or untracked sensor intermediate detections. The method also includes determining a grid map representation of static environment data based on data obtained from a perception system and/or a pre-determined map. The method further includes determining the properties of the plurality of objects based on the grid map representation of road-users perception data and the grid map representation of static environment data.

The present disclosure discloses a map display method performed at a terminal. The method includes: obtaining a real scene image of a current location and target navigation data of navigation from the current location to a destination; determining, according to the current location and the target navigation data, virtual navigation prompt information to be overlaid in the real scene image; determining, according to a device configuration parameter of a target device capturing the real scene image, a first location on which the virtual navigation prompt information is overlaid in the real scene image; performing verification detection on the current device configuration parameter; and overlaying the virtual navigation prompt information on the first location when the current device configuration parameter passes through the verification detection. According to the present disclosure, an AR technology is applied to the navigation field so that map display manners are more diverse and diversified.
VEHICLE NAVIGATION APPARATUS
A vehicle navigation apparatus includes a vehicle navigation unit and a route guidance control unit. The vehicle navigation unit includes a route setting unit and a navigation control unit. The route setting unit sets a route to a destination point on the basis of information on a position of a vehicle, information on a destination point, and first map information stored in a storage. The navigation control unit performs guidance on the route and controls the form of displaying the route on a display. The route guidance control unit includes at least one processor determining the driving entity of a vehicle. In a case where the at least one processor determines that the driving entity of the vehicle is the vehicle itself and the vehicle deviates from the route, the at least one processor stops the guidance until the vehicle reaches a next waypoint of the route.

Systems and methods are disclosed for generating a display of a navigation map. The system may comprise a historical data source device having, for example, a historical data source computer and a database storing historical data associated with one or more of vehicle accident data, traffic data, vehicle volume data, vehicle density data, road characteristic data, or weather data. The system may comprise a map data processing device having a map data processing computer and memory storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the map data processing computer, cause the map data processing device to, for example, determine, based on a location determining device, a location of a vehicle. The map data processing system may determine one or more historical factors based on the location of the vehicle. The map data processing system may receive, from the historical data source device and for the location, historical data associated with the one or more historical factors. Based on the location of the vehicle, one or more real time factors and real time data associated with the one or more real time factors may be calculated. The map data processing system may calculate, using the one or more historical factors and the one or more real time factors, a navigation score for each segment of a route from the location to a destination location. The map data processing system may determine one or more colors for each navigation score and/or generate a display of a navigation map comprising the one or more colors.

A navigation terminal includes a reception unit adapted to receive a file in which map data of a specific zone is stored, from a map provision server; and an execution unit adapted to execute a navigation function on the specific zone using the file. The file is produced by an individual unit with respect to each of geographic areas divided by a mesh unit having a variable size. The size of the mesh unit is decided according to the amount of information included in the geographic area such that the file has an equalized size.

A navigational system includes a hybrid-dimensional visualization scheme with a multi-modal interaction flow to serve for digital mapping applications, such as in car infotainment systems and online map services. The hybrid-dimensional visualization uses an importance-driven or focus-and-context visualization approach to combine the display of different map elements, including 2D map, 2D building footprint, 3D map, weather visualization, realistic day-night lighting, and POI information, into a single map view. The combination of these elements is guided by intuitive user interactions using multiple modalities simultaneously, such that the map information is filtered to best respond to the user's request, and presented in a way that presents both the focus and the context in a map in an aesthetic manner. The system facilitates several use cases that are common to the users, including destination preview, destination search, and virtual map exploration.

A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided for adaptive zoom control for zooming in on a venue beyond the maximum zoom level available in a digital map. An apparatus may be provided including at least one processor and at least one non-transitory memory including computer program code instructions. The computer program code instructions may be configured to, when executed, cause the apparatus to at least: provide for presentation of a map of a region including a venue; receive an input corresponding to a zoom-in action to view an enlarged portion of the region, where the enlarged portion of the region includes the venue; and in response to receiving the input corresponding to a zoom-in action to view the enlarged portion of the region, transition from the presentation of the map of the region to a presentation of a venue object corresponding to the venue.
