APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR UPDATING MAP AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM CONTAINING COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR UPDATING MAP
20230039032 · 2023-02-09 ·

An apparatus for updating a map detects the positions of reference points corresponding to a feature on a road being traveled by a vehicle from surrounding data representing features around the vehicle, and updates probability distributions associated with the respective reference points so that the probabilities of existence of the reference points at the detected positions of the reference points increase. Each of the probability distributions indicates the probability of existence of the corresponding reference point as a function of position.

Systems and methods for updating an electronic map

Systems and methods for updating an electronic map of a facility are disclosed. The electronic map includes a set of map nodes. Each map node has a stored image data associated with a position within the facility. The method includes collecting image data at a current position of a self-driving material-transport vehicle; searching the electronic map for at least one of a map node associated with the current position and one or more neighboring map nodes within a neighbor threshold to the current position; comparing the collected image data with the stored image data of the at least one of the map node and the one or more neighboring map nodes to determine a dissimilarity level. The electronic map may be updated based at least on the collected image data and the dissimilarity level. The image data represents one or more features observable from the current position.

Predictive machine characteristic map generation and control system

One or more information maps are obtained by an agricultural work machine. The one or more information maps map one or more agricultural characteristic values at different geographic locations of a field. An in-situ sensor on the agricultural work machine senses an agricultural characteristic as the agricultural work machine moves through the field. A predictive map generator generates a predictive map that predicts a predictive agricultural characteristic at different locations in the field based on a relationship between the values in the one or more information maps and the agricultural characteristic sensed by the in-situ sensor. The predictive map can be output and used in automated machine control.

A water area object detection system includes a first imager to image an object around a hull, a second imager provided on the hull such that an imaging direction of the second imager is the same or substantially the same as an imaging direction of the first imager and operable to image the object around the hull, and a controller configured or programmed to perform a control to create a water area map around the hull based on images captured by the first imager and the second imager. The second imager is spaced apart in an upward-downward direction of the hull from the first imager, and the first imager is spaced apart in the imaging direction from the second imager so as not to overlap the second imager in the upward-downward direction perpendicular to the imaging direction.

The handheld device is configured to move along a perimeter of the working region with a user and comprises a detecting module, detecting the perimeter information of the working region; and an input module, receiving a command of the user for detecting the perimeter information. The control module comprises a perimeter setting unit, generating virtual data of the perimeter, an area calculation unit calculating the area of the working region and a scheduling unit generating a working schedule. The self-moving device comprises a working module, a driving module and a controller. The controller controls the self-moving device to work according to the working schedule.

MAP MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND MAP MANAGEMENT METHOD

A map management system stores map information used by an automated driving vehicle. The automated driving vehicle detects an obstacle based on the map information, or acquires a margin distance when stopping in front of an obstacle based on the map information. When requiring a remote operator's decision about an action with respect to the obstacle, the automated driving vehicle issues a support request that requests the remote operator to give support. The map management system acquires an operator instruction to the automated driving vehicle issued by the remote operator in response to the support request. The map management system estimates a type of the obstacle based on a state of acquisition of the operator instruction or a content of the operator instruction. Then, the map management system updates the map information according to the type of the obstacle.
