Pointer for illuminating bar graph gauges
A pointer for a gauge or an instrument cluster assembly is provided. The pointer is formed of a light conducting material. In one form, indicia are disposed about the axis of rotation and/or on a surface, the plurality of indicia configured to be selectively illuminated by the pointer. A second end of the pointer may be configured to be selectively rotated adjacent to each indicium of the plurality of indicia and to illuminate the indicia when the light guide pointer is disposed adjacent to the indicia. The second end may be wider than a first end of the pointer. In some variations, the pointer may have a fan shape, and the indicia may be configured as tick marks defining a bar graph. In some forms, opaque material may be disposed on the pointer, the opaque material defining a plurality of indicia on the pointer.
Plug-and-play stepper motor for a pointer display assembly
Systems and methods are disclosed and include a needle control module that includes a processor configured to execute instructions stored in a nontransitory computer-readable medium, a motor driver circuit in communication with the needle control module, the motor driver circuit controlling a stepper motor attached to a needle, and a housing enclosing the needle control module, the motor driver circuit, and the stepper motor, the housing being physically attached to a display of a vehicle. In response to the needle control module receiving a signal representing vehicle state information, the needle control module is configured to instruct the motor driver circuit to control movement of the stepper motor and adjust a position of the needle based on the signal.
Method and transfer device for transferring data blocks
A method for transferring data blocks from a field device to a server, each data block including data describing an operation of the field device during a block time period is provided. The method includes setting a first and a second pointer delimiting a completed time period; and, until a predetermined transfer period elapses: transferring the data blocks having a block time period that is later than the second pointer to the server in a chronological order; and if all data blocks having a block time period that is later than the second pointer have been transferred to the server, transferring the data blocks having a block time period that is earlier than the first pointer to the server in an anti-chronological order. Data blocks can efficiently and reliably be transferred to the server.

Indicating device and pointer for the same
A pointer for an indicating device includes a conductor. The conductor includes a front portion, a rear portion, and a receiving portion. The rear portion extends from the front portion. The receiving portion extends from the rear portion. The receiving portion is configured to receive light and to conduct the light through the rear portion toward the front portion. The receiving portion has a cutout dented into the receiving portion.
INDICATING DEVICE WITH DIAL PLATE HAVING GROOVES
A dial plate is in a disc shape. A pointer body is located at a center of the dial plate and rotational relative to the dial plate. The dial plate has a plurality of grooves extending radially outward from the center. The pointer body is configured to emit light radially outward to illuminate one of the grooves to produce a linear illumination extending linearly outward from the pointer body.
METER DEVICE
A meter device includes an instrument panel, a coaxial motor, a central light source, a peripheral light source, and units. The coaxial motor includes rotation shafts which rotate around a single axis perpendicular to the instrument panel. The central light source is disposed near the rotation shafts. The peripheral light source is disposed more distantly from the rotation shafts than the central light source. The units rotate together with the rotation shafts, respectively. The units includes indicator parts, respectively. Each of the indicator parts guides light to emit the light, thereby indicating a surface of the instrument panel. The units include a first unit and a second unit. The first unit includes a light path which guides light from the central light source to the indicator part. The second unit includes a light path which guides light from the peripheral light source to the indicator part, and a non-light guide part that prevents the light of the central light source from being guided to the indicator part.
Optical Reading Device for a Pointer Instrument
An optical reading device for a pointer instrument which has a pointer and a scale face or dial with different degrees of reflectance in each case, includes an illumination device for illuminating the scale face or dial and a plurality of light sensor elements which are arranged in a circular arc about the rotational axis of the pointer in order to detect the light of the illumination device reflected back by the scale face or dial, wherein the illumination device is configured to uniformly illuminate the scale face or dial and each light sensor element is configured with an isosceles triangle outline, where each light sensor element is offset with respect to one another by half of the base width in the circumferential direction of the circular arc.
