System and method for determining angular position in rotating machines
Systems and methods for determining angular position in rotating machines. A repeating sequence of segments are arranged in a track disposed at a diameter around a shaft of a rotor that rotates about an axis. A sensor is positioned to face the track and is fixed relative to the stator. The track and the sensor face to each other, which may be in directions that are parallel to the axis. The sensor generates an output that is decoupled from the diameter of the track and is related to the repeating sequence of segments.
Pen type drug injection device with absolute angular dose encoder mechanism
A drug delivery device comprising: a housing; a cylindrical member rotatably supported within the housing; and a plurality of sensors; wherein: the outer surface of the cylindrical member is provided with a single track, the track forming an encoder and having a plurality of first track segments and a plurality of second track segments arranged along the length of the track which are respectively capable of inducing first and second responses in the sensors; and in each rotational position of the cylindrical member relative to the housing at least one different first track segment is capable of inducing a first response in at least one said sensor, thereby enabling the rotational position of the cylindrical member relative to the housing to be determined.
Nonvolatile multitum rotation sensor with magnetic particle following a spiral track
A non-volatile, absolute rotation sensor employs a radial guide and spiral guide rotating with respect to each other to move a marker element continuously along the radial guide so that a distance of the marker element along the radial guide provides an indication of shaft movement over multiple turns. A sensor system senses the distance of the marker element along the radial guide to provide an electric output.
LINEAR INDUCTIVE POSITION SENSOR FOR AN ANGLE MEASUREMENT OF A MECHANICAL COMPONENT IN ROTATION
Disclosed is a linear inductive sensor having, on the one hand, a fixed part of transformer type with a primary circuit and at least two secondary circuits, the primary circuit being flowed through by a high-frequency alternating current capable of inducing an electrical voltage in each of the at least two secondary circuits and, on the other hand, a moving part with a target intended to be fixed on a mechanical component executing a movement in rotation about an axis, which the inductive sensor measures angularly. The target is a metal spiral carried by a circular face of a ring having a central recess, the ring being intended to be fixed on the component while being concentric therewith, the spiral projecting axially from the ring while making at least one revolution around and moving away from the recess.
ANGLE SENSING USING DIFFERENTIAL MAGNETIC MEASUREMENT AND A BACK BIAS MAGNET
A magnetic field sensor includes a back bias magnet to generate a DC magnetic field. First and second magnetic field sensing elements of the magnetic field sensor are disposed proximate to at least one ferromagnetic surface of a ferromagnetic target object. The first and second magnetic field sensing elements generate first and second electronic signals, respectively, in response to first and second sensed magnetic fields corresponding to the DC magnetic field but influenced by the at least one ferromagnetic surface. The magnetic field sensor generates a difference signal that is a difference of amplitudes of the first and second electronic signals. The difference signal is indicative of a rotation measurement of an absolute relative rotation of the ferromagnetic target object and the magnetic field sensor about a rotation axis.

Vibration amplification and detection device
A vibration amplification and detection device may include a coiled diaphragm coupled to a pin that is also coupled to a substrate. The coiled diaphragm may be coupled to the pin via at least one axle and a fulcrum disc, and the vibration detection device may be coupled to a surface via the substrate. Responsive to vibration associated with or proximate the surface, the coiled diaphragm may receive and amplify the received vibration. In addition, a sensor associated with the vibration detection device may capture or detect the received and amplified vibration. Further, the detected vibration may be processed and compared with known vibrations and associated properties. Moreover, one or more actions may be instructed based on the detected vibration and associated properties.
Proximity sensor to sense rotating shaft position and velocity
A shaft monitoring system includes a rotatable shaft having a target element coupled thereto that rotates along with the shaft. A proximity sensor is located adjacent to the target element. The proximity sensor measures an inductance of the target element based on one or both of a volume of the target element and a distance between the target element and the proximity sensor, and generates a proximity sensor output signal based on the measured inductance. A signal processing system determines at least one of a position of the shaft, a rotational speed of the shaft, and a rotational direction of the shaft based on the proximity sensor output signal.
INTEGRATED ENCODER AND RESOLVER
The present disclosure provides position detector for an electric machine. The detector uses one or more proximity sensors, such as eddy current sensors, to detect features on the rotor of an electric machine. The detectable feature may be a spiral groove, which has a unique position at any given point around the circumference of the rotor. As the rotor is typically steel, the proximity sensors produce different output values depending on the degree to which they are aligned with the groove. As such, given that the groove has a unique position at any given location, the output of the proximity sensors is also unique for any given position. This enables the position of the rotor with respect to the sensors to be determined.
STROKE SENSOR
A stroke sensor is provided with two disk-shaped rotors configured to rotate with a stroke of a measuring object, a rotation detecting unit that detects rotations of the two rotors, respectively, and a stroke position detecting unit that detects the stroke position of the measuring object based on the rotations of the two rotors detected by the rotation detecting unit. At least one of the two rotors is in direct contact with the measuring object. The two rotors are provided side by side in an arrangement direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the measuring object and are provided so as to be adjacent to the measuring object in an arrangement perpendicular direction perpendicular to the axial direction and the arrangement direction. Each of the two rotors is provided in such a manner that its rotation axis direction is inclined with respect to the arrangement direction.
