A position sensor device comprising two or more magnetic sensors capable of measuring one or two or three orthogonal magnetic field components at various sensor locations; and a processing circuit for determining a first, a second and a third difference of two respective components, and for determining a first ratio of the first and second difference, and determining and outputting a first angle based on this first ratio; and for determining a second ratio of the first and third difference, for optionally determining a second angle, optionally comparing the two angles or the two ratios; and for outputting at least one of: the second angle, the two ratios, a diagnostic signal based on a comparison of the angles or ratios.
MAGNETIC POSITION SENSOR DEVICE, METHOD AND SYSTEM, WITH ERROR DETECTION
A position sensor device includes: a first, second and third magnetic sensor for measuring a first magnetic field component oriented in the first direction, and a second magnetic field component oriented in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction; a processing circuit for determining a first and a second difference of signals provided by the first and third sensor, and for determining and outputting a first angle based on these differences; and for determining a third and a fourth difference of signals provided by the second sensor and one of the first and the third sensor; and for determining a second angle based on the third and the fourth difference, and for outputting the second angle and/or a diagnostic signal based on a comparison of the first and second angle.
ROTATIONAL ANGLE DETECTION APPARATUS
To provide a rotational angle detection apparatus which can determine abnormality of the rotational angle detection apparatus only by detection information of the rotational angle detection apparatus even when the rotational speed is low. A rotational angle detection apparatus totals sensor output values of N-1 pieces of the rotation detection sensors other than the diagnosis object sensor; calculates a value obtained by inverting positive/negative of a total value, as an estimation value of sensor output value of the diagnosis object sensor; calculates an estimation difference which is a difference between a sensor output value of the diagnosis object sensor, and the estimation value of sensor output value of the diagnosis object sensor; and determines that abnormality occurred in the diagnosis object sensor, when the estimation difference is out of a determination range for estimation difference.
SAFETY MECHANISM FOR HIGH AVAILABILITY ANGLE SENSOR
In some implementations, an angle sensor may determine an angular position of an object based on first sensor values received from a first set of sensing elements. The first sensor values include a first x-component of a magnetic field and a first y-component of the magnetic field. The angle sensor may determine the angular position of the object based on second sensor values received from a second set of sensing elements. The second sensor values include a second x-component of the magnetic field and a second y-component of the magnetic field. The angle sensor may perform a set of safety checks, including performing an x-component check based on the first x-component and the second x-component and performing a y-component check based on the first y-component and the second y-component. The angle sensor may provide an indication of a result of the set of safety checks.
Elevator encoder diagnostic system and diagnostic method
The present invention provides an elevator encoder diagnostic system and an elevator encoder diagnostic method by which input and output ports are kept from being occupied, functional restriction is suppressed, and abnormalities and malfunctions occurring in encoders provided in a dual-system can be detected. The elevator encoder diagnostic system according to the present invention includes a first encoder 16a and a second encoder 16b that are provided on a rotary portion of the elevator, a first diagnostic unit 21a connected to the first encoder, and a second diagnostic unit 21b connected to the second encoder, a first determination unit 23a and a second determination unit 23b that detect differences between encoder rotation amounts of the respective encoder systems and rotation detection signals of the other encoder systems, and, if a difference therebetween exceeds a predetermined threshold, determines that an abnormality has occurred.

To provide an abnormality detection apparatus for resolver which can determine the abnormality of at least the first system, even if the period of the excitation AC voltage of the first system and the period of the excitation AC voltage of the second system are different periods, and the magnetic interference between systems occurs. An abnormality detection apparatus for resolver applies an AC voltage of a first period to a first system excitation winding; applies an AC voltage of a second period different from the first period to a second system excitation winding; calculates a first system square sum which is a sum of square values of the detection values of output signals of first system two output windings after the second period component reduction processing: and determines abnormality of first system based on whether or not the first system square sum is within a normal range of first system.
POSITION DETECTION MODULE AND POSITION DETECTION SYSTEM THEREOF
A position detection module and a position detection system thereof are provided. The position detection module includes a first output port, a second output port, a third output port and a fourth output port. The first output port outputs a first detection signal, the second output port outputs a first position signal, the third output port outputs a second detection signal, and the fourth output port outputs a second position signal. Thus, the design of two sets of detection signals and position signals enables the position detection module to be fault-tolerant for meeting the requirements of safe dual-channel.
Position detection system and method for detecting a movement of a machine
A position detection system for detecting a movement of a machine includes a first and a second position sensor and an evaluation device. The first position sensor is configured to detect a change in a first magnetic field generated by the movement of the machine. The second position sensor is configured to detect a change in a second magnetic field, which differs from the first magnetic field and is generated by the movement of the machine. A detection result from the second position sensor has a lower resolution of a position of an element of the machine to be determined than a detection result from the first position sensor. The evaluation device is configured to evaluate the detection result from the first position sensor and/or the detection result from the second position sensor to determine the position of the element of the machine.
