Method and device for measuring fat in milk

Disclosed is a method for determining of fat content of milk having variable solids fractions and flowing with variable gas content in a pipeline. The method includes ascertaining a velocity of sound and an average density value for the milk based on eigenfrequencies of at least two bending oscillation wanted modes of measuring tubes of a densimeter arranged in the pipeline. The method further includes ascertaining a static pressure in the pipeline; a gas volume fraction based on the velocity of sound; the average density; the pressure; a density of the milk without gas content based on the average density and the gas volume fraction; and a permittivity of the milk based on a propagation velocity and/or an absorption of microwaves in the milk. The fat fraction is calculated based on the density of the milk without gas content and on the effective permittivity.

FLOWMETER MEASUREMENT CONFIDENCE DETERMINATION DEVICES AND METHODS

ULTRASONIC METER FOR RECORDING A THROUGH-FLOW RATE OF A FLUID
20180010940 · 2018-01-11 ·

An ultrasonic meter for recording a through-flow rate of a fluid has a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a flow channel connecting the inlet to the outlet. The flow channel has a measurement region which extends in a straight line in a flow direction. Between the measurement region and the fluid outlet, there is arranged a reflection element which is flowed around by the fluid and by which an ultrasonic signal is reflected into the measurement region. Between the measurement region and the reflection element, there is arranged a changeover region of the flow channel. In the changeover region a spacing between a central straight line of the measurement region and the side wall enlarges. The changeover region has, in the circumferential direction of the flow channel, several circumferential sections in which the enlargement of the spacing between the central straight line and the side wall takes place.

FLOW RATE ADJUSTING DEVICE

Provided is a flow rate adjusting device including: an ultrasonic flow metering portion; a flow rate adjusting portion; a control portion configured to control the flow rate adjusting portion so that the flow rate of the fluid measured by the ultrasonic flow metering portion matches a set value; a pressure sensor configured to measure a pressure of the fluid flowing into an upstream side of a measurement flow channel from an inflow port; and a storage portion configured to store information that associates the flow rate of the fluid obtained from the propagation time difference measured by the ultrasonic flow metering portion, the set value of the target flow rate, and the pressure measured by the pressure sensor with each other when the control portion controls the flow rate adjusting portion.

Ultrasonic flow meter having four separate transducer assemblies mounted within mounts in a flow cell

A flow meter for calculating fluid flow rate and/or volume includes a flow cell shaped to define an internal passageway through which the fluid travels, and four separate transducer assemblies independently mounted within mounts in the flow cell in fluid communication with the internal passageway. Each transducer assembly includes a transducer, a transducer stud with a recess in its front surface that is dimensioned to receive the transducer, and a sensor plate mounted onto the stud for retaining the transducer in the recess. A bore extends vertically through the transducer stud and into communication with the recess, the bore being dimensioned to receive wiring for the transducer. The separation and independent mounting of the four transducer assemblies in the flow cell minimizes the disruption of normal fluid flow through the internal passageway, thereby enabling greater accuracy of measurements to be achieved.

ACTIVE FILTER STATUS MONITOR

Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a method and associated device for determining when an air filter needs replaced in an electronic device. The method comprises measuring the power needed to produce a predetermined output in a fan or related device that receives air through the air filter and comparing the measured power to previous measurements. When the amount of power needed is greater than a threshold, a dirty filter message or alert is produced.
