Provided herein is an apparatus for determining a vertical density profile of a multi-layered fluid column including at least two different liquids, the apparatus comprising a plurality of measurement modules that form a vertical array of measurement modules; wherein each measurement module comprises: a support arm mounted to the elongate vertical support member and extending outwardly from the elongate vertical support member; a displacer carried on the support arm; and a force measurement device configured to measure a force attributable to a mass of the displacer mediated by a buoyancy of the displacer in the fluid column, wherein the plurality of measurement modules have a data connection to a data processing unit that is configured to process the measurement data from the plurality of measurement modules and generate a level or density profile of the fluid column.

An aerially controlled sludge level detection system is for determining a sludge level in a wastewater reservoir. The system may have a drone and a sludge level detection tool suspended from the drone. The drone may be operable to lower the sludge level detection tool into the wastewater reservoir and raise the sludge level detection tool out of the wastewater reservoir. The sludge level detection tool may have a longitudinally extending gauge. At least a portion of the gauge at a distal end may be hollow to allow a volume of a fluid and a volume of the sludge from within the wastewater reservoir to enter the gauge when lowered into the wastewater reservoir. The sludge level detection tool may also have an analyzer connected to the gauge for analyzing the volume of the fluid and the volume of the sludge within the gauge.

Provided are a robot that calculates a level of liquid contained in a liquid container and a method for calculating such liquid level. The robot includes a robot arm to which a tool is attached to an end of the robot arm, a torque sensor disposed on the robot arm and measuring a torque value of the robot arm, and a processor that controls the robot arm and receives the torque value from the torque sensor and calculates information related to the torque value, and calculates the level value of liquid contained in the liquid container based on the information related to the torque value.

When the liquids in the liquid storage tanks evaporate gradually due to surrounding temperature or humidity, the feeding liquid in the liquid feeding tank flows into the liquid storage tank and replenish all of the liquid storage tanks via the communicating tubes. Thus, the liquid surfaces of the liquids in the liquid storage tanks can be kept at a predetermined proper liquid level, so as to allow the level sensor to provide accurate signals to monitoring staffs.

The lever arm is configured to interact with the liquid so that it has an angular displacement relative to the base member. The angular displacement is a function of the level of the liquid in the liquid channel. A sensor senses angular displacement of the lever arm. A communications circuit transmits the angular displacement of the lever arm to a remote location. In a method of detecting a liquid level, a float that is buoyant in the liquid is placed into the liquid and is coupled to a lever arm. An angular displacement of the lever arm relative to a base member is measured. The liquid level is a function of the angular displacement of the lever arm.
