Automatic analysis apparatus and method for controlling automatic analysis apparatus
[Task] To provide an automatic analysis apparatus including a photomultiplier tube which controls a sensitivity of the photomultiplier tube without adjusting a high voltage value. [Solution] An automatic analysis apparatus according to the present invention includes a photomultiplier tube which detects light from a reaction vessel; a determination unit which determines an output signal of the photomultiplier tube in a case where the photomultiplier tube is irradiated with first light; and a control unit which irradiates the photomultiplier tube with second light to lower a sensitivity of the photomultiplier tube in accordance with a determination result by the determination unit.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF SENSOR CALIBRATION USING SWITCHABLE IN-PATH OPTICAL DIFFUSER
Systems and methods of calibrating a sensor using an in-path optic capable of remaining in the sensor's optical path of view for both nominal imaging and for solar calibration collects are described. The optic is reversibly switchable between a transparent state and a diffuse state. An electric field aligns a plurality of liquid crystals dispersed in a polymer between two conductive layers is created to enable the transparent state. Incident light is transmitted through the aligned liquid crystals. The electric field between the two conductive layers is removed, misaligning the plurality of liquid crystals dispersed in the polymer between the two conductive layers. Light dispersed by the misaligned liquid crystals is received, and the sensor is calibrated based on the light dispersed by the misaligned liquid crystals.
OPTOELECTRONIC SENSOR DEVICE, DETECTOR AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE, AND METHOD OF OPERATING SUCH A SENSOR DEVICE OR DETECTOR
An optoelectronic sensing device may include an optoelectronic detection device configured to detect light and provide an electrical signal as a function of detected light. The device may further include a signal detection device configured to store at least one signal value of the electrical signal in a memory during a time interval of repeating time intervals and to output an indication signal after the time interval has elapsed.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND DEVICES FOR CALIBRATING LIGHT SENSING DEVICES
Systems, devices and methods for calibrating or increasing the accuracy of light sensing devices. The methods can include calibrating a light sensing device with a calibration source that is adapted to mimic at least one representative spectrum.
Computer-implemented method and system for preventing sight deterioration caused by prolonged use of electronic visual displays in low-light conditions
A system and method for preventing sight deterioration caused by prolonged use of electronic visual displays in low-light conditions is provided. The system includes a camera directed towards a user, a processing circuitry, control circuitry and, optionally, a light sensor. The processing circuitry determines the illuminance of a user's face, and in case it falls outside of a predefined range (putting the user at risk of future sight deterioration and progression of myopia), the device stores the illuminance data and/or sends a control signal to circuitry operative to notify the user. If processing circuitry determines that the illuminance is equal or greater than the predefined illuminance, the circuitry operative can stop the notification. The notification can be modulated by any combination of the illuminance and the time of use.
Method and system for non-contact optical-power measurement
The present invention provides methods and systems for measuring optical power that require neither alterations to the optical fiber nor physical contact with the optical fiber, the system including an optical fiber configured to propagate an optical signal, wherein the optical fiber includes a core and at least a first cladding layer, wherein a portion of the optical signal scatters out of the optical fiber along a length of the optical fiber to form scattered fiber light; a detector system configured to receive the scattered fiber light along the length of the optical fiber and to output a detection signal based on the received scattered fiber light; and a processor configured to receive the detection signal and to determine a power value of the optical signal based on the received detection signal.
Ambient light detection and data processing
A method, apparatus, and a computer program is provided. The method comprises: determining an ambient light value from ambient light data provided by at least one ambient light sensor, in dependence upon the spectral distribution of the ambient light data provided by the at least one ambient light sensor and a manufacturer of the at least one ambient light sensor.
