ACHE TUBE LEAK TESTING TOOL

A test apparatus and method for use, in situ, to identify leaks in individual tubes in an air-cooled heat exchanger includes a pressurizing component and a pressure retaining component that are secured in the opposite ends of an individual tube by engagement of a lock member in the threaded opening in the respective adjacent headers from which the access port covers have been removed. A pressurized test liquid, e.g., water, is admitted via the test apparatus pressurizing component to fill the tube by initially venting and then closing a drain valve on the pressure retaining component and controllably increasing the hydrostatic pressure on the tube to a predetermined value and monitoring a gauge in the pressurizing component for any loss of the final test pressure, thereby confirming a leak, after which the tube is drained and sealed to remove it from service.

Test valve assembly with extraction mechanism

A pipeline has a fitting with a wedge-shaped plug pressed into a wedge-shaped fitting recess by a retaining ring to block flow through the fitting for pressure testing. The plug has an extractor plate fastened to the plug through a center of the retaining ring so the retaining ring can rotate relative to the plug and extractor plate. But the extractor plate is a predetermined maximum distance from the plug and is larger than the center opening of the retaining ring to captivate the retaining ring between the plug and extractor plate. That limits the retaining ring motion along the port's axis. Threading engagement between the retaining ring and port allow the retaining ring to push the plug into the fitting in a first rotation direction while rotation in the opposite direction allows the retaining ring to push the extractor plate and the connected plug out of the fitting.

TOOL KIT FOR DETECTING LEAKAGES IN TUBES

A tool kit for testing and detecting a leakage in a tube having a cylindrical body is disclosed herein. The tool kit of the present invention comprises an inlet member and an outlet member which are going to attached with the extreme ends of the tube through a threaded mechanism. The one end of both inlet member and outlet member has a tapered structure that allows the easy insertion of both members in the openings of the tube. The tool kit further includes a fluid pump that pumps the fluid in the tube, wherein the fluid is inserted through the inlet member of the tool kit. A pressure monitoring unit is also provided with the fluid pump that measures the pressure inside the tube in real time. Furthermore, the outlet member includes a handle whose function is to control the pressure inside the tube during the testing process.

Holding Device For A Non-Return Valve Flap And Method For Positioning Same

A device for holding a flap of a non-return valve in a closed position, which is configured to carry out hydraulic testing of a device or apparatus, includes a body which takes the form of a caliper with two arms that are articulated relative to each other, at a first of the two opposite ends thereof, about a first axis, in that it includes a holder articulated about the first axis and in that the two arms each has, at the second end thereof, a pad pivoting about axes that are parallel to the first axis.

TURBINE INSPECTION STOPPER

A turbine inspection stopper is provided, including a main body and a pressure gauge. The main body has a base portion, an annular flange which is laterally disposed around the base portion and an air passage, the annular flange is for being connected to one of two ends of a turbine, the base portion and the annular flange define an interior space, the interior space is for communicating with an interior of the turbine, and the air passage is for communicating with outside and the interior of the turbine; and at least one part of the pressure gauge is buried in the main body and communicates with the interior space.

PLUGS FOR ANCHORING WITHIN EQUIPMENT AND METHODS OF USE FOR PRESSURE TESTING
20230167934 · 2023-06-01 ·

A plug for isolating and pressure testing a hollow piece of equipment (e.g., a container or tubular) comprises a compression nut, a semi-conical mandrel shaft (which may be one or two pieces), and a compression member. The compression nut and the semi-conical mandrel shaft are threaded together, directly or indirectly via a spacer and plug body, such that the rotation of the compression nut forces the mandrel shaft through the compression member, and the semi-conical surface expands the compression member against an interior surface of the hollow piece of equipment to anchor in place and seal off a testing space. Internal channels running through the compression nut (and if present, the plug body) permit externally pressurized fluid and sensors to communicate with the testing space. The compression member can be configured to test either one end of the piece of hollow equipment or a particular region between the two seals.

METAL-TO-METAL WELL EQUIPMENT SEAL
20170336003 · 2017-11-23 ·

A metal-to-metal sealing system is described for forming a pressure-activated connection between two pieces of equipment under HPHT (high pressure high temperature) conditions which will degrade elastomers. The roughly cylindrical seal comprises four sealing surfaces, two sealing surfaces formed by the circular longitudinal edge, and two sealing surfaces formed by either side of a bulge located halfway along the outer diameter. These surfaces correspond with sealing surfaces on the pieces of equipment to be joined. These pieces of equipment also utilize testing ports in fluid communication with the seal in order to ensure a secure connection.

Apparatus for closing and sealing the open end of a pipe

The tool comprises a front plate for closing the open end of a pipe. A pair of clamping devices are positioned around the pipe and frictionally engage its outer surface. Nut and bolt assemblies connect the front plate with the clamps. These assemblies pull the front plate tight against the pipe end face. A back plate is positioned transversely within the bore of the pipe. The plate has a stem that slidably projects forwardly through a central aperture in the front plate. The back plate carries an O-ring. A nut is threaded onto the stem and functions to draw the back plate forward so that the O-ring seals the interface of the front plate and pipe end face.

Seal apparatus

A seal apparatus provides sufficient sealing and is compact and inexpensive. The seal apparatus includes a thread part screwed to the screw fastening part of a hollow component; a seal part that moves along an axis of the screw part and comes into pressure contact with the screw fastening part of the hollow component; a stopper part fixed to the screw part that restricts the movement of the seal part; a pressed part that moves the seal part into pressure contact with the screw fastening part; a spring disposed between the pressed part and the stopper part; and an accumulator formed between the stopper part and the seal part and into which a test fluid which is introduced into the hollow component for inspection flows.
