WHITEWATER HELMET EVALUATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Various embodiments relating to methods for evaluating injury mitigation performance of helmets that are used for sports (e.g., whitewater kayaking and rafting) are described. In one embodiment, a method for evaluating injury mitigation performance of a helmet includes applying a first impact configuration to a first helmet and applying a second impact configuration to a second helmet of the same model as the first helmet. The method further includes generating acceleration data based on impacts that occur as part of the first impact configuration and the second impact configuration. The method further includes determining concussion risk values based on the generated acceleration data. The method also includes determining a concussion risk metric based on the concussion risk values and exposure values.

MAGNETICALLY ACTUATED EXCITER DEVICE WITH IMPACT HAMMER FUNCTION
An exciter device is configured to apply both a vibrational force and an impact force to a device-under-test. A first end of a piston is couplable to the device-under-test and a second end of the piston is aligned with a position of an impact hammer tip. The impact hammer tip and an electromagnet are both coupled to a moveable housing that is positioned around the piston. The exciter device applies a vibrational force to the device-under-test when an alternating magnetic field is applied by the electromagnet to the permanent magnet causing a linear reciprocating movement of the moveable housing relative to the piston. The exciter device applies an impact force to the device-under-test when a magnet field is applied by the electromagnet to the permanent magnet causing a linear movement of the moveable housing that is sufficient to cause the impact hammer to contact the second end of the piston.
ADJUSTMENT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR FLEXIBLE WALL SURFACE SUITABLE FOR DROPLET IMPACT
The present invention provides an adjustment device for a flexible wall surface suitable for droplet impact, which includes a base, a staybolt, an experiment substrate and the wall surface to be tested, wherein the periphery of the wall surface to be tested is fixed to the upper surface of the experiment substrate by an adhesion agent and the inclination angle of the wall surface to be tested is adjusted by adjusting the left two staybolts and right two staybolts on the experiment substrate to different heights; and a plurality of through holes are uniformly formed on the experiment substrate and provided therein with wall surface adjusting bolts used to abut against and apply force to the wall surface to be tested, so as to allow the wall surface to be tested to present a desired curved shape.
Impact testing apparatuses and methods for drug delivery devices
Impact testing apparatuses are disclosed which simulate and measure various impact-related events associated with the operation of a drug delivery device. The impact testing apparatus may include an impactor configured to simulate a plunger rod of the drug delivery device, and a guide sleeve configured to receive a syringe corresponding to the drug delivery device. The syringe may have a proximal end, a distal end defining an outlet, and an interior chamber extending between the proximal and distal ends and carrying a plunger. Additionally, the impact testing apparatus may include an energy source configured to reduce a distance between the impactor and the plunger so that the impactor strikes the plunger. Various sensors may be included to measure characteristics of one or more impacts caused by the impactor. Methods of impact testing a syringe filled with a fluid and carrying a plunger are also disclosed.
System and method for estimating both thickness and wear state of refractory material of a metallurgical furnace
A system for estimating both thickness and wear state of refractory material (1) of a metallurgical furnace (12), including at least on processor including a database of simulated frequency domain data named simulated spectra representing simulated shock waves reflected in simulated refractory materials of known state and thickness, each simulated spectrum being correlated with both known state and thickness data of the considered simulated refractory material, wherein the at least one processor is configured to record a reflected shock wave as a time domain signal, and to convert it into frequency domain data named experimental spectrum, and are further configured to compare the experimental spectrum with at least a plurality of simulated spectra from the database, to determine the best fitting simulated spectrum with the experimental spectrum and to estimate thickness and state of the refractory material (1) of the furnace (12) using known state and thickness data correlated with the best fitting simulated spectrum.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DROP TEST EQUIPMENT
Controlling of drop test equipment. A predefined test script is obtained over a machine-machine interface. The test script comprises plurality of test settings for drop testing of a device-under-test, DUT. The drop test equipment is controlled to perform drop testing of the DUT according to the test settings of the test script. Test results are collected and provided to a test report.
