Various disclosed embodiments include illustrative devices, systems, and methods for analyzing occupancy detection sensors. In an illustrative embodiment, a device includes a processor and a memory configured to store computer-executable instructions. The instructions are configured to cause the processor to receive an environmental value, send instructions to apply increasing forces to a seat portion of a seat, magnitude of sequential ones of the forces increasing over time, receive applied force values from a force applicator, receive a seat occupied signal from a seat sensor, record the applied force value associated with the applied force values in response to receiving the seat occupied signal, compare the recorded force value with a threshold force value associated with the received environmental value, and output a signal in response to the comparison.

DYNAMIC COMFORT DATA MAT SYSTEM

A mat system and method for collecting dynamic comfort data relative to a seat occupied by an occupant, the mat system including a sensor matrix layer configured to be disposed (i) extending along at least a portion of a top surface of a seat bottom and including a first shear force sensor mounted adjacent to the top surface of the seat bottom and configured to measure a first shear force generally parallel to the top surface of the seat bottom, or (ii) extending along a portion of a forward surface of a seat back including a second shear force sensor mounted adjacent to the forward surface of the seat back and configured to measure a second shear force generally parallel to the forward surface of the seat back, or (iii) both. The mat system may also include a temperature sensor, a normal force/pressure sensor or a vibration sensor.

Pelvis Member Of An Anthropomorphic Test Device Having A Buttock Cavity To Simulate Buttock Compression
20220326120 · 2022-10-13 ·

An anthropomorphic test device includes a pelvis member. The pelvis member has a foam core and includes an abdomen region defining a first cavity and a pair of thigh regions extending from the abdomen region. The pelvis member also includes a buttock region positioned below the abdomen region and rearward of the pair of thigh regions. The buttock region defines a buttock cavity separate from the first cavity with the buttock region also defining at least one vent port. The buttock cavity compresses from an open condition to a collapsed condition when the anthropomorphic test device is placed onto a surface for approximating a force applied by a body weight of a human.
