APPARATUS FOR INLINE TRACE ANALYSIS OF A LIQUID
The invention relates to an apparatus for the inline trace analysis of a liquid, preferably of an aqueous process solution, comprising: a housing (1); a micro-channel (2) through which the liquid to be examined is allowed to flow and into which light of a light source (3) is coupled; a detector (4) for light emerging from the micro-channel (2); and a user interface (5) for monitoring and/or operating the apparatus. The micro-channel (2), the detector (4) and/or the user interface (5) are arranged in the housing (1) and/or are integrated into the housing (1), and the housing (1) has a connection (6) for feeding the liquid in the micro-channel (2) and a connection (7) for power supply of the apparatus.
SMALL VOLUME LIQUID SAMPLER
A device for sampling an initial volume of a liquid flow is disclosed which comprises an inlet conduit, an outlet conduit, and valve casing. The valve casing has a passageway formed therethrough. A sample outlet extends through the valve casing and into the passageway. A valve structure is arranged for axial movement in the valve casing. A gate of the valve structure obstructs the passageway and prevents an initial volume of the liquid flow from being transferred to the outlet conduit when the valve structure is moved to a sampling position. A stem of the valve structure obstructs the sample outlet without obstructing the passageway when the valve structure is moved to a diverting position. At least one elongated groove is formed in a surface of the gate and extends into the stem such that the initial volume is directed through the sample outlet and towards a receptacle when the valve structure is moved to the sampling position. A lifting member moves the valve structure from the sampling position to the diverting position.
Chemical testing
A testing device for testing the level of a selected chemical in central heating system water in a central heating system circuit comprises: a sample chamber for holding a sample of central heating system water, the sample chamber being connected to the central heating system circuit; means for controlling filling of the sample chamber with central heating system water from the central heating system circuit, and emptying of the sample chamber; at least one valve for isolating the sample of central heating system water from the heating circuit during testing; and optical testing apparatus including a light source and a detector, for measuring an optical property of the sample of central heating system water isolated within the sample chamber and thereby making a determination as to whether or not the level of the selected chemical in the water is greater than a predetermined threshold level.
Passive micro-vessel and sensor
An electrically passive device and method for in-situ acoustic emission, and/or releasing, sampling and/or measuring of a fluid or various material(s) is provided. The device may provide a robust timing mechanism to release, sample and/or perform measurements on a predefined schedule, and, in various embodiments, emits an acoustic signal sequence(s) that may be used for triangulation of the device position within, for example, a hydrocarbon reservoir or a living body.
Method and device for online determination of the viscosity of a polymer
A method and a device for the online determination of the viscosity of a polymer in pasty to liquid form undergoing processing, such as extrusion is disclosed. It is provided that for the online determination of the viscosity of the polymer, at least a portion of the polymer undergoing processing is diverted and conveyed to the measurement volume of a measuring module, a predetermined volume of the respective batch is expelled from the measurement volume through a measurement nozzle by subjecting the batch to a predetermined pressure, the time required for expelling the predetermined volume of the batch is measured, the measured values are used for calculating the viscosity of the polymer, and prior to the filling of the measurement volume with the polymer to be measured, the measurement volume is flushed at least once with a quantity of the polymer being processed.
Underground tool providing on-line information for in situ assessment of aquifer quality and flow rate
An underground sampling tool (HTMS) for underground water analysis of both quality and flow rate, providing the information required to perform an underground drilling and obtain uncontaminated water for crop irrigation, said tool comprising: a housing for the electronic and electrical controls, a housing for the hydraulic means controlled by the electric and electronic portion of the tool, a test body consisting of a variety of hydraulic circuits for operating the various operating valves of the tool, wherein said test body further comprises: a rear shoe on an axial axis of the tool, wherein said rear shoe is driven by two telescoping pistons simultaneously that arise from the inside of the tool when driven by a signal of a surface equipment operably enabled for this purpose, and a front shoe, driven by several pistons which are housed below the front shoe, not shown in the figures, and driven by one or more electro-pneumatic devices acting jointly and generating a progressive forward or backward movement of the front shoe. Process for the collection and analysis of samples in a wellbore using said tool.
