The sampler is used to interface with existing field instrumentation, such as Ion Mobility Spectrometer (IMS) equipment. Desired sampler characteristics include its: stiffness/flexibility; thermal mass and conductivity; specific heat; trace substance collection/release dependability, sensitivity and repeatability; thickness; reusability; durability; stability for thermal cleaning; and the like. In one form the sampler has a glass fiber core with a thickness less than 0.3 millimeter that is coated with a polymer including one or more of: polymeric organofluorine, polyimide, polyamide, PolyBenzlmidazole (PBI), PolyDiMethylSiloxane (PDMS), sulfonated tetrafluoroethylene (PFSA) and Poly(2,6-diphenyl-p-phenylene Oxide) (PPPO). Multiple polymer coatings with the same or different polymer types may be included, core/substrate surface functionalization utilized, and/or the core/substrate may be at partially filled with thermally conductive particles.
Secure sample collection bottle
A secure specimen sample bottle includes a base container for receiving a specimen. The base container has a plurality of locking protrusions formed along an inner surface of the base receptacle. A bottle includes a lock ring that has an upright spire structure that has a closed top end and the opposing open bottom end including a plurality of flexible fins that are configured to interlockingly mate with the locking protrusions so as to prevent removal of the lock ring relative to the base container upon engagement of the flexible fins to the locking protrusions. A removable cap is coupled to the lock ring.
Fluid sampling device
An absorbent member, and a recorder that identifies a time and a date of fluid absorbed by the absorbent member.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CLASSIFYING SAMPLE DATA FOR ROBOTICALLY EXTRACTED SAMPLES
A method of classifying sample data for robotically extracted samples is disclosed. A specimen is received from a human subject with a potential infection of a first disease agents or a plurality of disease agents. The specimen includes genetic material collected from a human subject using a collection device and stored in a collection carrier. The specimen includes a unique identifier on the collection carrier. The unique identifier contains human subject descriptive data. The method classifies the human subject descriptive data to identify a second disease agent. The method extracts a sequence of genetic material from the specimen using an automated robot. The method determines a test result for the first disease agent as a function of the sequence of genetic material. A system comprising a computer device configured to classify sample data for robotically extracted samples is also disclosed.
DIRECT SPECIMEN COLLECTION DEVICE AND CASSETTE
The present disclosure relates to a specimen collection device comprising ventilation means for drying a collected specimen. The device further comprises a cassette into which the specimen collected is secured to maintain evidentiary chain of custody requirements while providing unobstructed access to a collected specimen for automated analysis. Methods of using the device are also provided.
Forensic Device for Collecting a Sample
The present invention relates to a forensic device suitable for acquisition and storage of biological samples, comprising in an air tight container (1) a water soluble layer (10) which is adhered to a flexible layer (11) by a water impermeable adhesive layer (12), wherein the air tight container (1) comprises a cover (2) defining a storage compartment (3) and a base (4) having attached thereto a protrusion (5) which extends from the base (4) inside said storage compartment (3). Further, the present invention relates to the use of the forensic device to acquire and store a biological sample.
Tamper-resistant chemical sampling
Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed for a tamper-resistant collection and retention a chemical sample. In one embodiment, the tamper-resistant system comprises a container operable to collect and retain a chemical sample, a tamper-resistant mechanism operable to disengage at a first chemical sample to allow for a collection of a chemical sample, wherein the tamper-resistant mechanism is operable to record one or more of: a date, a time, and a location, of the chemical sample during the collection of the chemical sample, and wherein the tamper-resistant mechanism is further operable to re-engage and lock after the collection of the chemical sample to resist subsequent chemical samples after the first chemical sampling.
