A sample testing system includes a test receptacle support structure, an optical element positioned for transmitting electromagnetic radiation emitted or reflected by a sample disposed in a test receptacle supported by the test receptacle support structure, a cleaning member, and an automated transport arm configured to (i) detachably couple the cleaning member, (ii) move the detachably-coupled cleaning member into a position proximate to and/or contacting the optical element, and (iii) decouple the cleaning member.

CONTINUOUS DUST ACCUMULATION MONITORING SYSTEM WITH IMPAIRED OPTICS DETECTION AND CLEANING

A continuous dust accumulation monitoring system, device and method monitors and measures dust accumulation via an enclosure and a machine vision subsystem which can include a digital camera. A dirty optics detection subsystem monitors optical clarity and can invoke a cleaning assembly to help maintain clarity of optics for monitoring and measuring dust accumulation.

Chemical testing device with a sample chamber having a piston therein with a chamber sealing element thereon

A testing device (10) for testing the level of a selected chemical in central heating system water in a central heating system circuit comprises: a sample chamber (14) for holding a sample of central heating system water to be tested, the sample chamber (14) being connectable (12) to the central heating system circuit to allow fluid to pass between the central heating system circuit and the sample chamber (14); means (16) for controlling filling of the sample chamber (14) with central heating system water from the central heating system circuit, and emptying of the sample chamber (14); at least one valve (18) for isolating the sample of central heating system water from the heating circuit during testing; and optical testing apparatus including a light source (20) and a detector (22), for measuring an optical property of the sample of central heating system water isolated within the sample chamber (14) and thereby making a determination as to whether or not the level of the selected chemical in the water is greater than a predetermined threshold level.

SYSTEM FOR EVALUATING GRAIN IN GRAIN HANDLING SYSTEMS

A system is presented for evaluating grain in a grain handling system. The system includes a sensor system and a sample conveyor system. In one or more arrangements, the sensor system is operatively connected to the grain handling system and includes an optical sensor. The sample conveyor system is configured to collect samples of grain in the grain handling system, deliver the samples of grain to the sensor system, and remove the samples of grain from the sensor system. The sensor system is configured to measure characteristics of the samples of grain delivered to the sensor system by the sample conveyor system. In one or more arrangements, the system includes a cleaning system configured to clean the optical sensor, the lens; and/or other components of the sensor system. In one or more arrangements, the system includes a recalibration system configured to recalibrate the optical sensor.

Fluorometer calibration device and method

A system and method for calibration of a fluorometer using a calibration cell comprising a sealed container housing one or more calibration solutions of known fluorescence. The inventive calibration device includes a sealed calibration cell housed in a storage chamber that may be permanently or temporarily affixed to the top of a fluorometer such that the calibration solution can be moved by manual or automated means directly from the storage chamber to the fluorometer cell for a calibration operation. All of the solution needed for any given calibration can be contained exclusively, in small quantity, inside the calibration cell.

Nephelometric turbidimeter and method for detection of the contamination of a sample cuvette of a nephelometric turbidimeter

A nephelometric turbidimeter for measuring a turbidity of a liquid sample in a sample cuvette. The nephelometric turbidimeter includes a measurement light source configured to emit an axial parallel light beam directed to the sample cuvette, a scattering light detector arranged to receive a scattered light from the sample cuvette, and a diffuser comprising a diffuser body and a diffuser actuator. The diffuser actuator is configured to move the diffuser body between a parking position in which the diffuser body does not interfere with the axial parallel light beam and a test position where the diffuser body is arranged between the measurement light source and the sample cuvette so that the diffuser body interferes with the axial parallel light beam and generates a diffuse test light entering the sample cuvette.

CLEANING DEVICE FOR CLEANING AN OUTER PORTION OF A SENSOR
