Optical absorbance measurements with self-calibration and extended dynamic range
Detector data representative of an intensity of light that impinges on a detector after being emitted from a light source and passing through a gas over a path length can be analyzed using a first analysis method to obtain a first calculation of an analyte concentration in the volume of gas and a second analysis method to obtain a second calculation of the analyte concentration. The second calculation can be promoted as the analyte concentration upon determining that the analyte concentration is out of a first target range for the first analysis method.
Trace moisture analyzer instrument, gas sampling and analyzing system, and method of detecting trace moisture levels in a gas
An analyzer instrument, gas sampling and analyzing system, and method are disclosed for detecting water vapor in gas using tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy at a wavelength of 1871 nm plus or minus 2 nm.
Micromechanical photothermal spectroscopy system and method
The micromechanical photothermal spectroscopy system and method includes a cantilever assembly having at least one cantilever thermal sensor extending from a support. The sensors may be simple bimetallic sensors, or may include microchannels made from two materials having different thermal expansion coefficients for analysis of microfluids. A beam of infrared light is separated out from solar radiation by gratings and filters, and is at least partially projected on the cantilever sensor(s). Heat released from the analyte by absorbance of infrared light results in deflection of the cantilever sensor(s), which is measured by a deflection detector. A filter wheel permits tuning of the sunlight-based infrared light beam to plot a spectrum of absorbance as a function of wavelength or wave number characteristic of the analyte. The deflection detector may be optical (using a laser and position sensitive detector(s)), or may use piezo-resistive material embedded in the sensor(s).
HIGH SPECTRAL RESOLUTION SCHEIMPFLUG LIDAR

HIGH RESOLUTION MOLECULAR LIDAR
The present disclosure provides a Scheimpflug LIDAR apparatus for detecting a property of a gas comprising: a light source configured to emit a light along at least a first axis, a light detection arrangement, and an optical configuration fulfilling the Scheimpflug condition and Hinge rule. The light source comprises an expander aperture, and wherein the expander aperture and light detection arrangement are configured such that: a spot size of the emitted light along the first axis is matched to a pixel footprint of pixels configured to receive light from corresponding distances along the first axis, and an effective range resolution of at least one column of pixels or probe volume deteriorates linearly with respect to the range.
Portable moisture analyzer for natural gas
Methods, devices, and systems are provided for analyzing the moisture content in natural gas. In one embodiment, a portable moisture analyzer system is provided and can include a moisture analyzer and a housing. The moisture analyzer can include a tunable diode laser absorption spectrometer (TDLAS) and a natural gas sample conditioning system. The TDLAS can be configured to detect water vapor content within a natural gas sample. The sample conditioning system can be in fluid communication with the TDLAS and can be configured to condition at least one of temperature, flow rate, and pressure of a natural gas sample. The housing can be configured to receive the moisture analyzer therein and to protect the moisture analyzer from vibration and/or shock.
Method and system for measuring steam mass flow
A method and system for measuring steam mass flow in a conduit by simultaneously measuring absorbance and variable steam patterns by light detectors receiving coherent light.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR IMPURITY DETECTION IN BEVERAGE GRADE GASES
A system and method for determining impurities in a beverage grade gas such as CO.sub.2 or N.sub.2 relies on a coupling of FTIR analysis and UV fluorescence detection. Conversion of reduced sulphur present in some impurities to SO.sub.2 can be conducted using a furnace. In some cases, CO.sub.2% also is determined.
