The placement portion has an opening. The sample container includes a container body for surrounding the sample, the container body beings having a shape opened downward, and a container film configured to close an opening of the container body and support the sample. The holder includes an enclosure cylinder having an outer shape larger than the opening, the to surround the sample container, and having a shape opened downward, and a holder film closing an opening of the enclosure cylinder.
Multi-axis specimen imaging device with embedded orientation markers
A specimen holding and positioning apparatus operable to substantially non-movably maintain a specimen (e.g., an excised tissue specimen) in a fixed or stable orientation with respect to the apparatus during imaging operations (e.g., x-ray imaging), transport (e.g., from a surgery room to a pathologist's laboratory), and the like for use in facilitating accurate detection and diagnosis of cancers and/or other abnormalities of the specimen.
Improved Systems and Visualization Methods for Intraoperative Volumetric Imaging of Tissue Samples
Systems and methods are provided for improved intra-operative micro-CT imaging of explanted tissue samples and for improved visualization of such samples. These embodiments provide for reduced scan times and the ability for radiologists to quickly receive useful scan imagery and to provide accurately-communicated recommendations to the operating surgeon. Improved scan visualization methods facilitate surgeon and radiologist interaction with the scan data, including of annotation, viewing, and reorientation to accurately reflect the orientation of imaged tissue samples relative to the body prior to explantation. Improved visualization methods include color-coded sample texturing to indicate sample orientation, color-coded tumor visualization to indicate proximity to sample margins, and intuitive methods for adjusting the location and orientation of two-dimensional visualizations relative to the sample.
DEVICE FOR HOSTING A PROBE SOLUTION OF MOLECULES IN A PLURALITY OF INDEPENDENT CELLS
A device to host a crystallization medium, such as a solution, for crystal growth and a system for X-ray diffraction experiments to determine the atomic structure of crystals. A plurality of cells have a well, a sample holder placed in the well. The solution is hosted in the sample holder between thin-plates or one thin-plate. A cap seals an opening to the cell and each sample holder can be extracted independently from each well. A system for automated X-ray diffraction experiments for small crystals in the sample holder extracted from the wells utilizes an ultrasonic acoustic levitator to determine the crystal structure at atomic resolution. X-ray diffraction images are generated by scanning the X-ray beam over the levitated sample holder along a spiral trajectory by rotating the sample holder and moving in the direction perpendicular to the X-ray beam and the rotation axis at the same time.
X-RAY FLUORESCENCE ANALYZER
An X-ray fluorescence analyzer according to an embodiment includes a sample box configured to accommodate a liquid sample, an X-ray generation unit configured to irradiate an X-ray to one side surface of the inside of the sample box, and a detector disposed along one side surface of the sample box at which a distance of a fluorescent X-ray emitted from the inside of the sample box to the outside of the sample box is shortest in order to minimize absorption of the fluorescent X-ray emitted out of the sample box in the air, when the X-ray irradiated by the X-ray generation unit reacts with the liquid sample inside the sample box to emit the fluorescent X-ray out of the sample box, the detector being configured to detect the fluorescent X-ray.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PARTICLE ANALYZER AND THE PARTICLE ANALYZER
A method is provided for manufacturing a particle analyzer in which the deterioration of the measurement function is suppressed during the measurement of the particles to be measured. The particle analyzer includes a first storage chamber in which a first liquid is stored, a second storage chamber in which a second liquid containing particles to be analyzed is stored, and a flow path connecting the first storage chamber in fluid communication with the second storage chamber. The method includes a surface modification step of irradiating a surface constituting the flow path with an ultraviolet ray to modify the surface of the flow path.
X-ray seed imaging system, cabinet x-ray device, and methods of evaluating seeds
A cabinet x-ray device for imaging seeds includes an x-ray source configured to transmit an x-ray beam along a beam path. A seed holder is configured to hold seeds and be selectively positioned in the x-ray device such that the beam path crosses the seed holder and the x-ray beam passes through at least some of the seeds. An x-ray detector is configured to detect the x-ray beam after passing through the seeds such that one or more x-ray images of the seeds can be formed. Self-supporting x-ray shielding can extend circumferentially around the x-ray beam to mitigate x-ray transmission outside the device. A drive mechanism can automatically move the seed holder so that discrete x-ray images of subsets of seeds are taken in an automatic seed imaging operation. Various seed evaluations and seed process evaluations can be made using the device.
DEVICE FOR CLOSING THE INPUT OPENING IN THE SAMPLE CHAMBER IN AN X-RAY FLUORESCENCE SPECTROMETER
A closure device for the gas-tight closing of the input opening of a sample chamber of an x-ray analysis apparatus includes a slider having a closure plate and a carriage that is configured to be displaced in a lateral movement over the input opening on a linear guide arranged on a baseplate connected fixedly to the sample chamber. The closure plate is connected in an articulated manner to the carriage via deflecting elements that, upon butting against end stops connected rigidly to the baseplate, deflect the lateral movement of the carriage into a movement perpendicular thereto to press the closure plate over the input opening. A drive motor connected to the carriage via a drive means displaces the slider to provide the lateral movement on the linear guide.
