HYBRID PRESSURE VESSEL

The disclosed invention comprises one or more hybrid metal-composite pressure vessels e.g., 1 (FIG. 1) or 100,200 (FIG. 2), designed for deep water application of radiation sensitive equipment, where the hybrid pressure vessels comprise a combination of metals and non-metals. A source of radiation may be disposed in one of the two hybrid metal-composite pressure vessels and a radiation detector disposes in the other hybrid metal-composite pressure vessel. A radiation beam is less attenuated as it passes through the non-metal parts of the hybrid pressure vessels and the intensity of the radiation reaching a radiation detector is higher than if it were to pass through the metal parts of the housings.

MERCURY-IN-PIPE ASSESSMENT TOOL AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME

A system according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a generator-detector configured to be attached to a pipe. The generator-detector is configured to measure the concentration of mercury in the pipe in a non-destructive manner. A method is also disclosed.

Transmission small-angle X-ray scattering metrology system

Methods and systems for characterizing dimensions and material properties of semiconductor devices by transmission small angle x-ray scatterometry (TSAXS) systems having relatively small tool footprint are described herein. The methods and systems described herein enable Q space resolution adequate for metrology of semiconductor structures with reduced optical path length. In general, the x-ray beam is focused closer to the wafer surface for relatively small targets and closer to the detector for relatively large targets. In some embodiments, a high resolution detector with small point spread function (PSF) is employed to mitigate detector PSF limits on achievable Q resolution. In some embodiments, the detector locates an incident photon with sub-pixel accuracy by determining the centroid of a cloud of electrons stimulated by the photon conversion event. In some embodiments, the detector resolves one or more x-ray photon energies in addition to location of incidence.

Further, the acoustic detector may be operable to produce a signal representing the detected response by the construction material to the acoustical energy. A material property calculation function may be configured to calculate a property value associated with the construction material based upon the signals produced by the electromagnetic sensor and the acoustic detector.
