CAPILLARY ARRAY UNIT AND ELECTROPHORESIS DEVICE
It is an object of the present invention to provide an electrophoresis device that allows for reducing the temperature variation in the thermostat and that makes it easy to attach/detach the capillary. The electrophoresis device according to an aspect of the present invention includes: a capillary array unit that includes a capillary and a support that supports the capillary; a pump mechanism having one end of the capillary being connected thereto and for delivering a separation medium to the capillary; a detection unit that emits light to a portion of the capillary and performs a measurement on a sample in the capillary; and a thermostat that houses the capillary therein and performs temperature control on the capillary, in which the thermostat includes a heat source and a fan that sends air into the thermostat, and in which the thermostat or the capillary array unit includes a straightening plate.
ELECTROPHORESIS SYSTEM
An electrophoresis system includes a plurality of capillaries in which electrophoresis of a sample is performed, a light source that irradiates detection positions of the capillaries with light, a light detector that detects light generated by the irradiation with the light by the light source that depends on components contained in the sample, and a buffer storage unit into which one end of the plurality of capillaries are inserted at a time of the electrophoresis of the sample and in which a buffer is stored. A computer controls an electrophoresis condition of each of the plurality of capillaries such that arrival times for the components that move in the plurality of capillaries to reach the detection positions are shifted from each other. As a result, it is possible to detect fluorescence signals at different timings in each of the plurality of capillaries.
Capillary cartridge and electrophoresis apparatus
A capillary cartridge achieves both improvement of attachability and improvement of heat dissipation performance for realizing short-time analysis. A heat dissipation body is provided between a capillary having a detection unit provided in a part thereof and a plate-like support body that supports the capillary, and temperature increase inside the capillary is suppressed by the heat dissipation body, and thereby, electrophoresis can be performed under a high voltage application condition where the amount of heat increases and analysis time is reduced. In addition, it is possible to redress complexity of an operation by reducing a fixing place at the time of attachment to only a detection unit and an electrode holder by using an integration structure in which the capillary, the supporting body, and the heat radiating body are integrated.
Disease detection system and method
An electrophoresis apparatus is generally disclosed for sequentially analyzing a single sample or multiple samples having one or more analytes in high or low concentrations. The apparatus comprises a relatively large-bore transport capillary which intersects with a plurality of small-bore separation capillaries and includes a valve system. Analyte concentrators, having antibody-specific (or related affinity) chemistries, are stationed at the respective intersections of the transport capillary and separation capillaries to bind one or more analytes of interest. The apparatus allows the performance of two or more dimensions for the optimal separation of analytes. The apparatus may also include a plurality of valves surrounding each of the analyte concentrators to localize each of the concentrators to improve the binding of one or more analytes of interest.
NOVEL CHILLING APPARATUS
The subject invention provides an apparatus for cooling and/or freezing samples. In an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus is a stackable chilling plate used in a comet assay. In specific embodiments, the chilling plate can accommodate glass slides deposited with an agarose gel suspension, wherein the gel is cured by a refrigerant disposed underneath a thermally-conductive top plate. Advantageously, the cooling/freezing apparatus provided herein can easily accommodate the placement of multiple cellular sample slides in a compact configuration.
