The rotational speed of a rotary drum with a rubber sample attached on the outer surface is set to a desired rotational speed, the impact cycle for the surface of the rubber sample of the contact member by the repeat-impact mechanism is set to a desired cycle, the impact load by the contact member is set to a desired impact load by a weight member, a desired contact member is selected from among the plurality of contact members with different specifications, and the contact member is repeatedly made to collide with the surface of the rubber sample by rotating a vertical excitation roller and pivoting the arm portion in the vertical direction with a rotation shaft.

A linear and rotary shock-testing machine including: a base; a shaft rotatably and translationally movable relative to the base; a test disc for holding one or more specimens to be tested, the test disc being rotatable with the shaft; one of a cam and cam follower fixed relative to the base; and an other of the cam and cam follower fixed to the test disc, wherein the shaft being driven to provide a rotational shock to the one or more test specimens; and the cam is shaped such that the cam follower follows the cam to urge the test disc into a translational motion while rotating to provide translational shock to the one or more specimens.

A shock testing machine including: a test platform for holding one or more objects to be shock tested, the test platform having an impact surface; a fixed member having a surface disposed a predetermined distance from a corresponding surface of the test platform, the test platform being movable such that the surface of the test platform can contact the corresponding surface of the fixed member upon an impact to the impact surface; and a flywheel having one or more cams for contacting the impact surface upon rotation of the flywheel such that the impact of each of the one or more cams on the impact surface causes the surface of the test platform to impact the corresponding surface of the fixed member to produce a shock in the one or more objects to be tested.
