Sensor module
Disclosed herein is a sensor module that includes a substrate having a top surface and a back surface, a sensor element mounted on the top surface of the substrate, an external terminal formed on the back surface of the substrate, and a case fixed to the substrate so as to cover the sensor element. The case has a top plate part having a plurality of through holes. The top plate part has a center area having no through holes and a through hole formation area having the plurality of through holes, the through hole formation area being positioned so as to surround the center area.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY MONITOR
Apparatus and associated methods relate to monitoring air quality. At least one of temperature, humidity, and particulate concentrations is measured by an indoor air quality monitor, which may be disposed in a spot location. Air from that spot location is drawn into the housing of the indoor air quality monitor via a fan assembly. The air drawn into the housing is directed passed at least one of a temperature sensor, a humidity sensors, and a particulate detector. The air is then expelled back outside the housing through an outlet in a non-planar upper surface of the housing. A processor generates the indoor air quality summary based on the measured temperature, humidity, and particulate concentration.
NON-DISPERSIVE INFRARED SENSOR
Disclosed is a sensor and method for detecting one or more gasses in a sample. The sensor includes two sample tube sections, which allow for a larger sample, and correspondingly, more accurate measurement. Having two sample tube sections increases the total length of the sample path. However, placing the sample tube sections in parallel allows for the performance of the sensor to be enhanced, but the footprint of the sensor to remain unchanged. Light pipe material may be used to transport the light between sample tube sections. Further, light pipe material may be used to move the IR lamp away from the first filter tube section, reducing problems in the thermopile by dissipating heat from the IR lamp away from the sample tube section.
Method and system for gas identification by simultaneous permeation through parallel membranes
The present disclosure relates to a system and a method for gas fingerprinting. The system includes multiple holders having a distinct gas-permeable membrane disposed of therewithin such that a confined space is created behind the membranes. The test gas is pressurized in a single gas reservoir and is allowed to permeate through the membranes into respective confined spaces. The accumulated pressure values behind the utilized membranes (in the confined spaces) at a given time, are simultaneously recorded using pressure sensors. The recorded gas accumulation data is processed by a computing device to determine a characteristic property for each test gas. The system ability to fingerprint gases is demonstrated by ten test gases including helium, neon, argon, hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, methane, ethane, propane, and ethylene, and is also able to discriminate between closely related gases.
Subterahertz microfabricated spectrometer
A microfabricated spectrometer uses at least one filter to discriminate the frequency components of an incoming RF signal. The filter center frequencies are chosen to correspond to wavelengths of target species which may be present in the gas, and radiating at a characteristic frequency.
GAS DETECTION USING DIFFERENTIAL PATH LENGTH MEASUREMENT
Device for improving an optical detecting smoke apparatus and implementing thereof. Apparatus and methods for detecting the presence of smoke in a small, long-lasting smoke detector are (disclosed. Specifically, the present disclosure shows how to build one or more optimized blocking members in a smoke detector to augment signal to noise ratio. This is performed while keeping the reflections from the housing structure to a very low value while satisfying all the other peripheral needs of fast response to smoke and preventing ambient light. This allows very small measurements of light scattering of the smoke particles to be reliable in a device resistant to the negative effects of dust. In particular, geometrical optical elements, e.g., cap and optical defection elements, are disclosed.
Electronic device with actuating and sensing module
An electronic device includes a casing, a speaker enclosure and an actuating and sensing module. The casing has an opening. The speaker enclosure is disposed within the casing to enclose a speaker, in communication with the opening of the casing and divided into a first speaker compartment and a second speaker compartment by a partition plate disposed corresponding to the opening, so that the opening of the casing is in communication with the first speaker compartment and the second speaker compartment. The actuating and sensing module is disposed within the first speaker compartment. The speaker is disposed within the second speaker compartment. The actuating and sensing module comprises a fluid transportation device and a sensor. The fluid transportation device is driven to transport a fluid from outside the casing into the first speaker compartment through the opening of the casing to make the fluid sensed by the sensor.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GAS PRE-SEPARATION FOR DETECTION OF SUBSTANCES
The present disclosure is directed to methods and systems for detecting a substance in a sample gas. The methods and systems include separating the substance of interest in the sample gas, and introducing the separated sample gas into a detector. The systems and methods further include performing an analysis of the substance of interest.
Physical-Quantity Detection Device
The purpose of this invention obtain a physical-quantity detection device, the external shape of the housing of which can be reduced in size. Said physical-quantity detection device, which detects a plurality of physical quantities of a gas being measured that flows through a main channel, is characterized by having a housing positioned inside said main channel, a circuit board insert-molded into said housing, and a plurality of detection sensors mounted on both sides of the circuit board.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CHEMICAL VAPOUR SENSING
Embodiments relate generally to methods, systems, devices and applications for use in relation to the detection of chemical vapours. A particular embodiment relates to a device for chemical vapour sensing. The device comprises a housing of a size to be manually portable, the housing defining a plurality of receptors adapted to receive a respective plurality of manually replaceable chemical vapour sensing components. The device further comprises at least one signal receiver to receive data signals from each chemical vapour sensing component when the chemical vapour sensing component is positioned in one of the receptors.
