METHOD FOR MEASURING INSIDE A BLANKET OF MINERAL OR PLANT FIBRES

A method measures inside a blanket of mineral and/or plant fibres being moved by at least one conveyor with a conveyor belt. The method uses a measuring system including a sensor and an actuator for introducing the sensor into the blanket, the actuator being mounted on the conveyor belt and able to move the sensor between a retracted position and a measuring position inside the blanket. The method also includes introducing the sensor into the blanket by the actuator under the effect of the movement of the conveyor belt.

Particle-filled fiber and articles formed from the same

A non-woven fiber article for use in a food, medical, or pharmaceutical production environment including a melt-spun polymer fiber is provided having a cross-section and a length and a detectable particulate present in an amount of 20 to 80 weight percent loadings of metal or 10 to 80 weight percent loadings of radiopaque particles to render the polymer fiber detectable by magnetic or X-ray detection, alone or in combination with a secondary functional particulate distributed with the polymer fiber to render the polymer fiber chemically responsive to a chemical reactant, change in pH or temperature. The detectable particulate and the secondary functional particulate are each independently present in a core, a sheath, or both portions of polymer matrix. A process of detecting a fabric made from such a fiber. The fabric article passes through detector. A signal is collected from the detector indicative of the presence of the fabric article.

Methods of treating fabrics with organic acids and related treatment compositions

Processes and uses related to treating fabrics with an organic acid, such as citric acid with certain treatment liquors or consumer product treatment compositions. A process to determine the presence of a metal-based residue on a fabric. Uses of a treatment composition or a treatment liquor to rejuvenate a non-white color of a fabric. Processes to demonstrate and/or display the color-rejuvenation benefits of a treatment composition.

DEFECT INSPECTION SYSTEM HAVING HUMAN-MACHINE INTERACTION FUNCTION

A defect inspection system is disclosed, and comprises a linear light source, N number of cameras, a display device, a tag reader, and a modular electronic device, in which the linear light source, the cameras and the modular electronic device are used for conducting a defect inspection of an article. On the other hand, the display device, the tag reader and the modular electronic device are adopted for conducting in production of at least one labeled example. Therefore, the modular electronic device is allowed to apply a machine learning process to an image classifier under using a training dataset containing the labeled examples, thereby producing at least one new defect recognition model or updating the existing defect recognition model.

A system for evaluating a distribution of fiber bundles in a fiber reinforced material by three-dimensional vector data of the fiber bundles is provided with: a calculator configured to divide the fiber reinforced material into a plurality of three-dimensional cells, selecting data respectively belonging to the cells, and averaging the selected data to calculate reference vector data; and a display configured to display the reference vector data two-dimensionally or three-dimensionally.

Test method for evaluating textile fabric performance

A method evaluating a strength of a textile for use in articles of clothing representative of normal wear and tear and comprising testing samples including the textile treated with an application of polyethylene, the untreated textile, and/or the textile being washed and dried one or more times; and/or where the textile has been conditioned. Each sample tested is weighed prior to and after abrasion resistance testing is conducted on each sample. The samples are each abraded with an abrasion resistance testing machine that has been modified with ISO test heads and an abrasive surface having a plurality of abrasion layers thereon. A number of rubs of abrasion between the abrasive surface and the test sample is pre-selected such that the test is run until the selected number of rubs have been completed. A bursting strength test can be further conducted on abraded areas of the testing samples.

Systems and methods for conducting non-destructive testing of fiber composite components are disclosed. The system may include a wire coil proximate the component and a power source connected to the wire coil. A controller may be connected to the power source and configured to continuously vary a current passing through the wire coil to generate a constantly changing magnetic field. A temperature sensor may be configured to detect a temperature of a plurality of regions of the component. The power source may be an AC or DC power source. The method may include generating a constantly changing magnetic field in proximity to a carbon-fiber composite, thereby inducing an electrical current in the carbon-fiber composite, and measuring a temperature of a plurality of different regions of the carbon-fiber composite to determine whether a defect is present. A defect may be identified by a temperature abnormality in a region.
