A diagnostic tester for analysing a body fluid includes a test tape having test zones configured to receive the body fluid. The tester further includes a chamber configured to contain the test tape and a seal. The tester further includes an opening of the chamber which is at least partially bordered by the seal. The tester further includes a face on the chamber that borders the opening, at least part of the face being formed by the seal. The tester further includes a closing leaf spring sealed onto the face, the closing leaf spring shielding the opening from an environment outside the chamber. The tester further includes an exit gap formed between the closing leaf spring and the seal through which the test tape is configured to exit the chamber.
Method, system, and device for automating transfer of tape to microtome sections
A system and method for automated transfer of a tape segment onto the face of a tissue block to be thin sectioned by microtomy includes applying, to a carrier strip, a plurality of serially-spaced patches of sample tape having an adhesive outer surface, transporting the carrier strip along a path adjacent to and spaced from the exposed sample surface to position one of the patches of sample tape adjacent to and covering the exposed sample surface, adhering the one of the patches of sample tape to the exposed sample surface.

A cassette for loading into a bay of an analyzer device, the cassette having a supply chamber for a test tape, an uptake chamber to receive used tape and a test zone between the chambers, where the tape is positioned at a test site for testing purposes, wherein the cassette includes a frame that extends across the test zone on a loading side of the tape, the frame being in a protective position relative to the tape, parallel to and aligned with the tape in the test zone, to protect the tape as the cassette is inserted into the bay of the analyzer device.

An apparatus for analyzing biologic fluid is provided that includes a first planar member, a second planar member, and at least three separators. At least one of planar members is transparent. The separators are disposed between the members, and separate the members to form a chamber having a height. At least one of the members or separators is sufficiently flexible to permit the chamber height to approximate the mean size of the separators. During use, the biologic fluid to be analyzed is disposed within the chamber.
