A coil wire includes a core wire and a winding wire. The winding wire is wound around a circumference of the core wire so as to form a plurality of spirals. The coil wire satisfies one of: (i) an outer surface of the core wire is exposed, and a distance between the outer surface of the core wire and an inner circumferential surface of part of the winding wire is smaller than a thickness of a first insulating film coated on the winding wire; or (ii) the outer surface of the core wire is coated by a second insulating film, and a distance between an outer surface of the second insulating film and the inner circumferential surface of part of the winding wire is smaller than a thickness of a thicker one of the first insulating film and the second insulating film.

CURRENT MEASUREMENT SYSTEM

A current measurement system comprising a multi-phase open loop current transducer for measuring phase currents (I.sub.1, I.sub.2, I.sub.3) flowing in a plurality n of primary conductors of a multi-phase electrical system. The transducer comprises a housing, a magnetic core including first and second core parts and a plurality n+1 of magnetic field detectors mounted in the housing between the first and second core parts in which portions of the primary conductors traversing the current transducer housing are positioned. The system further comprises a non-volatile memory in which information on at least one coupling matrix (K), pre-defined in a calibration procedure, is stored.

Monitoring of the contact region in a plug device

In a method for the determination of an electrical contact property in a contact region between a first contact element of a first plug device and a second complementary contact element of a second plug device, a property of a current path including the first contact element, the contact region, and from the second plug device only the second contact element is evaluated and an induction voltage is generated in the current path for a measurement in the current path to thereby enable to draw a conclusion about the electrical contact property.

The present disclosure is a system and method for measuring both load current and residual current within an electronic component. The electronic component includes a first toroidal core for measuring load current and a second toroidal core for measuring residual current, all enclosed within a housing. The system facilitates the measurement of load current and residual current in a small form factor and may be configured to replace legacy electronic components that measure only load current.

Wearable inductive damping sensor

Techniques are described for a non-invasive detection of a health condition of an organ. In an example, the electrical conductivity of the organ reflects the organ's health of. An inductive damping sensor can be used to detect the organ's electrical conductivity and, thus, its health. The inductive damping sensor can be placed in proximity of the organ such as the organ is within the magnetic field generated based on a coil of the inductive damping sensor. The conductivity of the organ impacts the inductance and the resistance of the coil. Hence, the inductance and/or resistance of the coil can be measured, where the measurements can be associated with the health of the organ.

RADIATION HARDENED CURRENT SENSOR WITH ACTIVE FILTER

A radiation hardened current sensor to sense direct current (DC), low frequency alternating current (AC), and high frequency AC includes a DC current transformer (DCCT) including a primary DCCT winding and a secondary DCCT winding. A self-oscillating modulator is coupled to the secondary DCCT winding of the DCCT to maintain a magnetic flux density of the DCCT at an upper limit and a lower limit of a magnetic hysteresis characteristic of the DCCT. An active filter passes only the DC and the low frequency AC from the DCCT as an output. An AC current transformer (ACCT) including a primary ACCT winding and a secondary ACCT winding. The output of the active filter is coupled to the ACCT and the secondary ACCT winding provides the high frequency AC.

A current-sensing system includes a conductor for carrying a first electrical current generating a first magnetic field. A device, spaced from the conductor by a clearance, includes a semiconductor integrated circuit die in a package. The semiconductor integrated circuit die includes at least one elongated bar of a first ferromagnetic material magnetized by the first magnetic field; a sensor comprising a first coil wrapped around the at least one elongated bar to sense the bar's magnetization; and an electronic driver creating a second electrical current flowing through a second coil wrapped around the at least one elongated bar generating a second magnetic field to compensate the at least one bar's magnetization. The package has a first outer surface free of device terminals. A discrete plate of a second ferromagnetic material is positioned in the clearance and is conformal with the first outer surface of the package.

DETECTING DELAMINATION IN A LAMINATED STRUCTURE

We describe a way of detecting delamination of a laminated structure that is heated by DC powered heaters by passing the source and return wires that supply current to the heaters through a toroidal transformer core. Should there be a breakdown in the laminations, current flowing through the heater will flow into the structure, resulting in less current being present in the return wire than in the source wire. The current imbalance between the source and return wires causes the transformer core to saturate. Using the core saturation, caused by the DC current imbalance, the delamination (or imminent delamination) of the laminated structure can be detected.

The first winding is configured to obtain a set of electrical current measurements associated with the operation of the industrial machine. The sensor includes a second winding encircling a second portion of the core. The second winding includes a second number of turns. The second winding is configured to obtain the set of electrical current measurements associated with the operation of the industrial machine. The first winding and the second winding are each configured to generate respective outputs based on the set of electrical current measurements. The respective outputs are configured to be used to reduce the occurrence of a distortion of the set of electrical current measurements based on a temperature of the core.
