Method for detecting a sag in a phase voltage, including the steps of: measuring, upstream of a switching member and at regular intervals, the phase voltage and a phase current flowing through a phase conductor; when the phase voltage falls below a predetermined voltage threshold, opening the switching member; subsequent to opening the switching member, if the phase voltage returns to a normal voltage value defined according to the phase current, detecting a malfunction of the electricity meter, generating a warning message, and keeping the switching member open; subsequent to opening the switching member, if the phase voltage remains below the predetermined voltage threshold, detecting a sag in the phase voltage, generating an alert message, and closing the switching member.

A utility meter includes a consumption measurement unit for generating consumption data, a meter processor, and a RTC for time stamping the consumption data to provide interval meter data during interval meter operation. A memory stores the interval meter data. The meter processor implements/initiates responsive to a power loss that suspends RTC operation, switching from interval to relative time operation where consumption data is stored as relative consumption data together with a relative time as relative meter data. Responsive power restoration and receiving a current time, the meter switches from relative time to interval meter operation. The restoration time is calculated using the current and an elapsed time since the restoration. The time of restoration and current time is used to generate calculated times. The consumption data from relative time operation is time stamped with the calculated times to provide time-corrected relative meter data that is stored to the memory.

METHOD FOR COLLECTING DATA IN A NETWORK, SENSOR, CONSUMPTION METER, TEMPORARY RECEIVER AND NETWORK

A method collects data in a network having a consumption meter as part of a supply network and containing a sensor. The sensor contains a measuring element which provides raw measurement data corresponding to a physical or physicochemical value or parameter. The sensor contains a communication device and a memory. For the determination of the measurement resolution of the sensor the conditions for generating time stampings using a correlation model are determined in advance. On a basis of the correlation model, time stampings of successive raw measurement data in the sensor are generated, the time stampings are stored in the memory. The time stampings are transmitted over a wired connection and/or a radio link so that on the basis of the time stampings using the correlation model the raw measurement data collected by the measuring element are reconstructed and evaluated. Whereas raw measurement data is used for on-demand network analysis.
