CONTACT DETECTION BY MEANS OF AN ULTRASONIC SENSOR SYSTEM

A method for contact detection for an ultrasonic sensor system installed in a concealed or unconcealed manner is disclosed. The method involves detecting reference surroundings information, comprising a time profile of a signal with: noise signal information relating to a wall material and/or airborne sound signal information, using an ultrasonic sensor of the ultrasonic sensor system; storing the reference surroundings information; detecting real-time surroundings information, comprising a time profile of a signal with: noise signal information relating to the wall material and/or airborne sound signal information and/or object sound signal information relating to an object in contact with the wall material, using the ultrasonic sensor; and forming a difference signal between the surroundings information of reference surroundings information and real-time surroundings information, using a computational unit. The difference signal can be interpreted in a further step.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SPACE STATUS DETECTION BASED ON ACOUSTIC CHIRP SIGNALS

A method and an apparatus for space status detection based on acoustic chirp signals are provided. The method includes following steps. One of a plurality of acoustic chirp signals is transmitted into a space respectively at a plurality of different time points. A plurality of acoustic waves that are the transmitted acoustic chirp signals varied in the space are sequentially received to generate a plurality of acoustic spatial response signals, and a plurality of space features of the space are obtained based on the acoustic spatial response signals. A status change of the space is detected by comparing two of the space features.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR LOCATING AND VISUALIZING UNDERWATER OBJECTS
20180011189 · 2018-01-11 ·

Sonar devices for detecting underwater objects are provided whereby a set of angled ultrasound transducers are employed to sense ultrasound signals from a plurality of different spatial regions. The angled ultrasound transducers may include a first pair of side-viewing ultrasound transducers and a second pair of ultrasound transducers configured for interrogating forward and reverse directions. The ultrasound signals from the set of angled ultrasound transducers may be processed to identify the presence of underwater objects in each spatial region, and the resulting identified underwater objects may be displayed, on a per-region basis, on a user interface. The ultrasound signals may additionally or alternatively be processed to generate a topographical model of the bed surface, and to generate a topographical surface image based on the three-dimensional topographical model. The topographical surface image may be displayed as a fly-over animation.
