An object detection device is applied to an object detection system which includes an object detection sensor installed in a vehicle so as to be oriented outward to detect an object around the vehicle. The object detection device includes: an error-handling control section that notifies a user of a detection error, if any, occurring in the object detection sensor, and brings the object detection system into an error-handling state; an action determination section that determines whether an error correction action has been performed by a user to correct the detection error, under conditions where the user has been notified of the detection error occurring in the object detection sensor; and a cancellation control section that relaxes predetermined cancellation conditions for cancelling the error-handling state when the error correction action is determined to have been performed, compared to when not performed.

METHOD FOR DETECTING A SCREENING OF A SENSOR DEVICE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE BY AN OBJECT, COMPUTING DEVICE, DRIVER-ASSISTANCE SYSTEM AND MOTOR VEHICLE
The invention relates to a method for detecting a screening of a sensor device (4) of a motor vehicle (1) by an object (8), in which at least one echo signal, captured by the sensor device (4), that characterizes a spacing between the sensor device (4) and the object (8) is received (S1) by means of a computing device (3), a capture region (E) for the sensor device (4) is determined, and on the basis of the at least one received echo signal it is checked whether the capture region (E) of the sensor device (4) is being screened by the object (8), at least in some regions, wherein the at least one echo signal is assigned by means of the computing device (3) to a discrete spacing value (B1, B2, B3) from a plurality of discrete spacing values (B1, B2, B3), for each of the discrete spacing values (B1, B2, B3) a power value (P) is determined (S2) on the basis of the echo signal, and on the basis of the power values (P) a decision is made by means of a classifier as to whether at least a predetermined proportion of the capture region (E) of the sensor device (4) is being screened (S6) by the object (8).

An object detection apparatus detects an object in a vicinity of a moving body in a state of being mounted to the moving body. The object detection apparatus measures a reverberation frequency that is a frequency of a reverberation signal that is generated in a transceiver that externally transmits a transmission wave that is an ultrasonic wave and receives a reception wave that includes a reflected wave of the transmission wave from the object. The object detection apparatus detects a specific segment that is an occurrence segment in which occurrence of beat that is attributed to a plurality of reverberation frequency components is confirmed in the reverberation signal, or a non-occurrence segment in which the occurrence of beat does not significantly occur. The object detection apparatus sets a measurement segment in which the reverberation frequency is measured in the non-occurrence segment based on a detection result of the specific segment.

A detection system includes: a detection portion that has an output function outputting a detection wave toward surroundings of a vehicle, and a detection function detecting an object around the vehicle based on a reflected wave; a determination section that determines that the object is definitely present around the vehicle when a number of times of detection of the object by the detection function exceeds a predetermined number of times; a control section that causes operation of the detection function without operation of the output function when the vehicle travels at a predetermined speed or higher; and an adjustment section that adjusts and increases the predetermined number of times designated for the determination section when the object is detected by the detection function operated by the control section during traveling of the vehicle at the predetermined speed or higher.
