Retrospective interferometry direction finding

Using captured and stored wideband historical radio frequency data bearing information to the source of a signal of interest achieved using as few as two receivers and a plurality of commutating antennas. Wideband IQ data streams are received at two or more receivers and stored for later analysis. A first receiver is coupled to a reference antenna and a second receiver is commutatively coupled to a plurality of commutating antennas. Later, streams of wideband IQ data are retrieved for a select period of time and synchronized. From these streams a signal of interest identified and synchronously sampled over an acquisition interval by each receiver. Phase differences of the signal at each of the plurality commutating antennas is measured enabling a determination of the bearing to the common signal of interest.

Method and apparatus for simple angle of arrival estimation

The method and apparatus for angle of arrival estimation are used for estimating the angle of arrival of a received signal by a switched beam antenna array and a single receiver. The switched beam antenna array first collects an omnidirectional signal to be used as a reference signal. A main beam thereof is then switched to scan an angular region of interest. The collected signals from the switched beams are cross-correlated with the reference signal. The cross-correlation coefficient is the highest at the true angle of arrival and relatively negligible otherwise. The collected signal from each beam angle is cross-correlated with the omnidirectional reference signal to determine the angle of arrival of the received signal.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING INTERFERING GNSS SIGNAL SOURCE AND PROVIDING EVASIVE MANEUVER GUIDANCE FOR EVACUATING THE AFFECTED REGION

Techniques for providing evacuation guidance parameters to a vehicle traversing in a geographical region in the presence of interfering GNSS signals are disclosed. In some embodiments, a vehicle can determine evacuation guidance parameters from characteristics of at least one interfering source and implement evasive maneuvers based on the evacuation guidance parameters. Alternatively, a vehicle can send characteristics of at least one interfering source to a central processing system located remotely from the vehicle, and receive evacuation guidance parameters from the central processing system.
