Positioning based on calendar information
A method includes obtaining piece(s) of calendar information indicative of at least one appointment taking place in a space and extracting a set of space identifiers representing space(s) of the venue. The space identifier(s) for one or more spaces are extracted based on an indoor map of the venue. The method also includes determining or triggering determining whether at least a part of the set of space identifiers or one or more spaces of the set of space identifiers match(es) the at least one space as represented by the piece(s) of calendar information; and if a match is found: determining one or more reference location estimates. A respective reference location estimate is indicative of a location of the space that was determined to be a match. A corresponding apparatus, computer program product and system are also provided.
FLOOR CHANGE DETECTION USING SIGNAL STRENGTH CHANGES AND POSITION ESTIMATION
One or more processors obtain (a) first radio data and a first horizontal position corresponding to a mobile apparatus at a first time and (b) second radio data and a second horizontal position corresponding to the mobile apparatus at a second time. Responsive to determining that the first horizontal position and the second horizontal position are substantially similar, the one or more processors identify differences between the first radio data and the second radio data. Based at least in part on the differences between the first radio data and the second radio data and one or more threshold criteria, the one or more processors determine whether the mobile apparatus changed floors between the first time and the second time.
DUAL-BAND REAL-TIME LOCATION
The disclosure describes a real-time location system for tracking assets at a site. The system includes one or more tracking tags for carrying by or on the assets, one or more locating device nodes and a processing application. Each tracking tag includes a short-range radio frequency signal transmitter configured to transmit a beacon signal with unique identification information of the tracking tag. Each locating device node includes a signal receiver configured to receive the beacon signals at a received signal strength and a long-range radio frequency transmitter configured to transmit, using a spread spectrum, long-range modulation over a wide area network, locating signals including the unique identification information of the tracking tag and a received signal strength indicator representing the received signal strength. The processing application is configured to associate tracking tags and locating device nodes based upon the received signal strength indicator.
Intelligent location estimation for assets in clinical environments
A system identifies a first position of a tag in a clinical environment based on first times at which first receivers received a first wireless signal from the tag. The system estimates a second position of the tag in the clinical environment based on second times at which second receivers received a second wireless signal from the tag. The system determines that a boundary is located between the first position and the second position, defines a path range around the first position of the tag based on an expected movement of the tag during a time interval between the first and second wireless signals, determines that the boundary lacks a door within the path range, adjusts the second position of the tag based on the boundary map, and transmits a message indicating that the tag is located at the adjusted position at the second time.
INTELLIGENT SECURITY VIA ACCURATE MOBILE DEVICE LOCATION SENSING
Described is intelligent security based on the detection of the presence of mobile devices within a defined region, determined via accurate mobile device location sensing, e.g., within on the order of one meter. Upon detection of the presence of a mobile device within a defined region via mobile device millimeter wave-based position sensing, an identity associated with the mobile device is obtained. If the identity associated with the mobile device is not a trusted identity, action can be taken based on the presence of the identity within the defined region. The intelligent security can be implemented within an application program of a registered user's mobile device and/or a security system, such as a commercially available security system with alarm monitoring services. Various criteria can determine the action(s) to take, including by which region (if more than one), time of day, identity trust level, duration of presence, and the like.

Electronic device for determining location information of external device
The disclosure relates to an electronic device, which is secured at a designated location, for determining a location area or a location area change of a movable external electronic device or, and an operating method thereof. An operating method of an electronic device including at least one antenna according to various embodiments of the disclosure may include: detecting that a state of a structure is changed from an open state to a close state, counting a sequence number from a first timing at which the state of the structure is changed to the close state to a second timing after a designated time based on information received from an external device via the at least one antenna using a designated communication scheme, determining location information of the external device based on the sequence number, and performing a designated function, based at least in part on the determined location information.
Adjusting a building service system
The invention relates to adjusting at least one of installed building service sensors (10) of a building service system. A sensor coverage area of at least one sensor (10) is adjusted based on information on a position of the installed sensor (10) relative to at least one other sensor (10). For example, to determine the position of the sensor (10) relative to said at least one other sensor (10), each sensor (10) establishes a wireless communication between said sensor (10) and at least one other sensor (10) via a wireless communication means (34) of the sensor (10). For example, information on the positions of the installed sensors (10) is used to assign to each sensor (10) at least one of installed building service supply devices (12) of the system.

Methods for enabling localization; related electronic devices and related location server devices
A location server device includes a memory circuitry, a processor circuitry, and an interface. The location server device is configured to communicate, via the interface, with one or more positioning units configured to communicate with one or more electronic devices one or more first positioning signals at a first frequency. The processor circuitry is configured to select at least one of the one or more positioning units based on detecting a trigger event. The interface is configured to transmit, to the at least one selected positioning unit, an activation signal. The activation signal indicates to the at least one selected positioning unit to activate transmission of one or more second positioning signals at a second frequency that is different from the first frequency.
