RADAR DETECTOR UTILIZING COMPLEX DATA FOR PROCESSING OF SIGNAL INFORMATION
20220365172 · 2022-11-17 ·

The use of complex analysis enables enable various new methods and strategies for the identification of a RF transmission source in a radar detector. The incoming signal (13) is processed using complex signal representations (I, Q), allowing for the recognition of signal patterns in the radio spectrum which may be hidden by conventional methods using only demodulation of signals which are in-phase with a local oscillator. The additional signal information can aid in overcoming signal and noise discrimination challenges faced by radar detectors using traditional band-limited, scalar sampling strategies, including the challenge of discriminating between police radar signals and other radar sources that utilize signals in the same frequency ranges (e.g., radar door openers, traffic sensors, vehicle-based collision avoidance, cruise control, blind spot monitor emitters).

Target detecting device

A target detecting device projects measuring light over a predetermined range in front of a vehicle, receives reflected light from a target, and detects the target or a distance to the target, based on a light reception signal output according to the light reception state. The light projecting unit includes a light emitting element emitting measuring light and light diffusion members. The light diffusion members are provided on an upper end portion and a lower end portion of a light projecting lens constituting part of a light projecting path, and diffuses, in the vertical direction, measuring light emitted from the light emitting element and traveling through the end portions in the vertical direction of the light traveling path while transmitting the measuring light.

High probability of intercept radar detector

Operating a police radar detector to suppress nuisance radar alerts due to received signals that are not police radar signals includes receiving electromagnetic signals; mixing received electromagnetic signals with a local oscillator signal that is swept at a constant sweep rate; and accumulating a virtual image of the signal environment represented by received electromagnetic signals. Analysis of the virtual image is performed for signals suspected of being nuisance signals that could result in nuisance radar alert so that any nuisance signals within the virtual image can be identified and ignored by the alarm portion of the police radar detector.

Vehicle camera system

A vehicle camera system and method for operating a vehicle camera system comprising a vehicle camera with communication capabilities. The vehicle camera operating in conjunction with other components to provide information to users. The vehicle camera system compiles information from multiple components into a single repository of video recordings with information, such as location information, vehicle status and diagnostic information, alert information and other information.

Point of interest database maintenance system

A method of processing data at a server 302 for maintenance of a database 516 of points of interest, such as speed limit enforcement devices. Each of the devices represented in the database has at least one attribute and a confidence value indicative of the accuracy of the at least one attribute associated therewith. The confidence value is time dependent and varies according to a predefined decay function. A report 500 relating to an attribute of a speed limit enforcement device is received at the server 302 from a mobile device 200. The confidence value associated with the speed limit enforcement device is adjusted in accordance with the received report, and information relating to the speed limit enforcement device 520, 522 is selectively transmitted to the or another mobile device 200 based on the confidence value.

RADAR DETECTOR FOR RECOGNIZING USER'S MOTION
20170299710 · 2017-10-19 ·

Provided is a radar detector for detecting and recognizing, as a control signal, a hand gesture or a motion of a user and transferring the same to a peripheral device. The radar detector utilizes position information of GPS or GLONASS by additionally mounting a GPS receiving unit to the radar detector so as to amend malfunctions of the radar detector in environments in which interference from undesired signals may be received, such as areas of heavy jamming, downtown areas where various signals are generated, etc., and to enable a user to arbitrarily add (or delete) a notification refusal area or a notification area. The radar detector is expected to contribute to safe driving by increasing control convenience of a driver and preventing traffic accidents.

HIGH PROBABILITY OF INTERCEPT RADAR DETECTOR
20170285135 · 2017-10-05 ·

A detector for detecting continuous wave police radar that includes an antenna configured to receive an input signal, a diplexer in communication with the antenna to separate the input signal into a high-band signal and a low-band signal, a local oscillator configured to sweep through a range of frequencies to produce F.sub.LO, and a frequency multiplier to generate a first mixing signal that is an integer multiple of F.sub.LO. The detector also includes a high-band intermediate-frequency signal and a low-band intermediate-frequency signal with a switch configured to select one of them as an output intermediate-frequency signal. A second-stage mixes the output intermediate-frequency signal with F.sub.LO to generate an output signal, and a determination is made whether the input signal includes a police radar signal.

Motorcycles in a group action share group information to which each of motorcycles belongs and the motorcycles share information with a surrounding four-wheeled vehicle via a vehicle-to-vehicle communication. The information to be shared is the group information. Information from the motorcycle to the four-wheeled vehicle is transmitted when the four-wheeled vehicle is detected by an imaging unit included in the motorcycle or transmitted when a detection unit irradiated from the four-wheeled vehicle is detected.
