Subsurface lithological model with machine learning
This disclosure describes a system and method for generating a subsurface model representing lithological characteristics and attributes of the subsurface of a celestial body or planet. By automatically ingesting data from many sources, a machine learning system can infer information about the characteristics of regions of the subsurface and build a model representing the subsurface rock properties. In some cases, this can provide information about a region using inferred data, where no direct measurements have been taken. Remote sensing data, such as aerial or satellite imagery, gravimetric data, magnetic field data, electromagnetic data, and other information can be readily collected or is already available at scale. Lithological attributes and characteristics present in available geoscience data can be correlated with related remote sensing data using a machine learning model, which can then infer lithological attributes and characteristics for regions where remote sensing data is available, but geoscience data is not.

The present invention relates to a method for determination of real subsoil composition or structure characterized in that the method comprises: —receiving a model representing the real subsoil, said model comprising at least one parametric volume describing a geological formation in said model, said volume having a plurality of cells; —for each cell in the plurality of cells, determining a quality index (QI.sub.cell) function of a respective position of the cell in the geological formation; —receiving a set of facies, each facies in said set being associated with a proportion and a quality index ordering in said formation; —associating a facies to each cell, said association comprising: /a/ selecting a cell with a lowest quality index within cells in the plurality of cells having no facies associated to; /b/ associating, to said cell, a facies with a lowest Quality index ordering within facies of the set of facies for which the respective proportion is not reached in the formation; /c/ reiterating steps /a/ to /c/ until all cells in the plurality of cells are associated with a facies.
RESERVOIR TURNING BANDS SIMULATION WITH DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING
Some implementations relate to a method for parallelizing, by a geological data system, operations of a geostatistical simulation for a well data set via a plurality of processing elements (PEs). The method may include determining a reservoir area for the well data set. The method may include determining a set of turning band lines for the reservoir area. The method may include dividing the reservoir area into a plurality of tiles, each tile including a respective subset of the set of turning band lines. The method may include assigning at least one of the tiles to each of the PEs. The method may include determining, in parallel for each tile, intermediate results with respect to each respective subset of turning band lines. The method may include aggregating the intermediate results to form a final result of the geostatistical simulation.
Coordinate-related despiking of hydrocarbon reservoir data
Methods for coordinate-related despiking of hydrocarbon reservoir data include receiving, by a computer system, multiple datapoints of a geomechanical property of a hydrocarbon reservoir modeled by a three-dimensional (3D) grid. Each datapoint corresponds to 3D coordinates of the 3D grid. For each datapoint, the computer system aggregates the datapoint with a noise component generated using the 3D coordinates corresponding to the datapoint. The computer system determines that the aggregated datapoint is unique to the multiple datapoints. The computer system performs a transform on the datapoints for Gaussian simulation. A display device of the computer system generates a graphical representation of the geomechanical property of the hydrocarbon reservoir based on the Gaussian simulation of the transformed datapoints.

A simulation may be performed on the reservoir data to generate simulated reservoir data. A subset of realizations including a minimal number of realizations from a plurality of realizations may be determined based upon, at least in part, one or more statistical moments of the simulated reservoir data. An optimized reservoir model associated with an objective may be generated based upon, at least in part, the subset of realizations including the minimal number of realizations.

Method and system for evaluating filling characteristics of deep paleokarst reservoir through well-to-seismic integration
The present invention belongs to the field of treatment for data identification and recording carriers, and specifically relates to a method and system for evaluating the filling characteristics of a deep paleokarst reservoir through well-to-seismic integration, which aims to solve the problems that by adopting the existing petroleum exploration technology, the reservoir with fast lateral change cannot be predicted, and the development characteristics of a carbonate cave type reservoir in a large-scale complex basin cannot be identified. The method comprises: acquiring data of standardized logging curves; obtaining a high-precision 3D seismic amplitude data body by mixed-phase wavelet estimation and maximum posteriori deconvolution and enhancing diffusion filtering. According to the method and the system, the effect of identifying the development characteristics of the carbonate karst cave type reservoir in the large-scale complex basin can be achieved, and the characterization precision is improved.
Method for determination of real subsoil geological formation
The present disclosure relates to a method for determination of a real subsoil geological formation. In at least one embodiment, the method includes receiving a model representing the real subsoil, determining a first fluvial geological formation in said model using parametric surfaces, determining a subsequent fluvial geological formation as a deformation of the first fluvial geological formation using parametric surfaces, and subtracting the first fluvial geological formation from the subsequent fluvial geological formation to create a new geological formation named point bar formation.
Method for determination of real subsoil geological formation
A method includes receiving a model representing a real subsoil geological formation. The model includes a stratigraphic layer, which includes a shore line dividing the stratigraphic layer into a continental zone and a marine zone. First and second flow speed fields are received, with the first flow speed field representative of a continental domain for the stratigraphic layer, and the second flow speed field representative of a marine domain for the stratigraphic layer. A global flow speed field is determined and includes a weighted combination of the first and second flow speed fields for each position in the stratigraphic layer. Weights of the combination are based on a distance of the position to the shore line and whether the position is within the continental zone or the marine zone. The real subsoil geological formation for the stratigraphic layer is determined based on the determined global flow speed field.
METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING A DRILLING INTERPRETATION AND VOLUMES ESTIMATOR
A drilling interpretation and volumes estimator (DRIVER) system may be provided. The DRIVER system may help facilitate a cost-effective discovery of patterns in mineral exploration drilling data that a mining company may not have the human or computer resources to look for. The DRIVER system may be able to reason with those patterns against previously-documented knowledge and may produce conclusions of value to a user, such as a mining professional.
