CLASSIFYING COMPARTMENTS AT SECURITY CHECKPOINTS BY DETECTING A SHAPE OF AN OBJECT
20200394430 · 2020-12-17 ·

A system and method for automatically detecting prohibited objects in a compartment at a security checkpoint includes receiving a three-dimensional representation of a compartment from an imaging device connected to the computing system, identifying, by the processor, a region within the compartment that has a highest likelihood of containing a prohibited object, based on a voxel classification of the three-dimensional representation using a first trained neural network, and classifying, by the processor, shapes of objects located within the identified region using a second trained neural network to determine whether any of the shapes correspond to a shape of a prohibited object known by the second neural network.

Mobile imaging of an object using penetrating radiation

A system for imaging a target object comprises a first unmanned vehicle including a source of penetrating radiation. The first vehicle positions the source such as to direct the radiation toward the target object. A second unmanned vehicle comprises an image detector for registering a spatial distribution of the radiation as an image, in which the second vehicle positions the detector to register the distribution of radiation when transmitted through the target object. These unmanned vehicles are autonomous vehicles adapted for independent propelled motion, and comprise a positioning unit for detecting a position of the vehicle. A processing unit controls the motion of the unmanned vehicles to acquire at least two images corresponding to at least two different projection directions of the radiation through the target object. The processing unit is adapted for generating data representative of an internal structure of the target object from the at least two images.

The present specification discloses a multi-view X-ray inspection system having, in one of several embodiments, a three-view configuration with three X-ray sources. Each X-ray source rotates and is configured to emit a rotating X-ray pencil beam and at least two detector arrays, where each detector array has multiple non-pixellated detectors such that at least a portion of the non-pixellated detectors are oriented toward both the two X-ray sources.

Method of assisting analysis of radiation image and system using the same

The present application relates to a method of assisting analysis of a radiation image and a system using the same, which belongs to the field of image processing. A method of assisting analysis of a radiation image includes: acquiring a radiation image to be analyzed; acquiring customs declaration information of the radiation image to be analyzed; acquiring a feature-matched historical image from a typical image library according to the radiation image to be analyzed; and/or acquiring a standard image and/or detailed customs declaration information of the standard image according to the customs declaration information of the radiation image to be analyzed. The method of assisting analysis of a radiation image and the system using the same may assist an image inspection person to judge whether or not the current radiation image carries violation items, whether or not a concealing or missing report occurs and so on.

Imaging Apparatus

An imaging apparatus 10 for generating an image of a subject including a scanning arrangement which includes an energy emitting source 20 and a detector 22 housed within a housing 12. The housing defines a scanning zone 24 in which the subject is operatively positioned for scanning A displacing arrangement 36 which includes a U-shaped belt-and-pulley drive arrangement is configured to displace the scanning arrangement relative to the housing 12 in a scanning direction. The housing 12 has a first door and second door defining a substantially linear pathway through the scanning zone. A motor 38 and horizontal drive belts 40 are disposed below the scanning zone and are not displaced relative to the housing in the scanning direction in which the energy emitting source and detector are displaced during scanning such that the displacing arrangement does not restrict or impede movement of the subject through the scanning zone.

Staggered detector array for locating radioactive sources
10816679 · 2020-10-27 ·

A large-area directional radiation detection system may include a large number of slab-shaped detectors stacked side-by-side and alternately displaced frontward and rearward, thereby providing a longitudinally-staggered array of protruding and recessed detectors. The protruding detectors collimate or restrict the lateral field of view of the recessed detectors, thereby enabling the angular position and distance of a source to be determined. The high detection efficiency and large solid angle of the staggered detector array enable rapid detection of even well-shielded threat sources at substantial distances, while simultaneously determining the positions of any sources detected. This detector array will be essential for guarding against clandestine delivery of nuclear materials in the coming century.

COLLIMATOR, COLLIMATOR MOUNTING DEVICE AND METHOD, AND SECURITY INSPECTION MACHINE

The present disclosure relates to a collimator and a collimator mounting device and method, which belong to the technical field of accessories of the X-ray security inspection machine. The collimator comprises a T-shaped base plate and two lead plates, wherein the two lead plates are arranged side by side and in parallel to each other, and are fixed on a longitudinal plate of the T-shaped base plate and extends to a transverse plate of the T-shaped base plate. The collimator is inserted obliquely into a shielding box, with a gap between the two lead plates in the collimator aligned with a first ray opening.
