DEVICE, METHOD, APPARATUS, AND MEDIUM FOR GENERATING HOLOGRAPHIC STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE
This application discloses a device for generating a holographic stereoscopic image. The device includes a body, a three-dimensional display, and a negative refractive index plate. The body includes a first cavity and a second cavity, a bending angle existing between a central axis of the first cavity and a central axis of the second cavity. A second end of the first cavity is in communication with a first end of the second cavity, an opening being formed by a second end of the second cavity on a side wall of the body. The three-dimensional display is arranged on the first end of the first cavity, and the negative refractive index plate is arranged between the second end of the first cavity and the first end of the second cavity. A display direction of the three-dimensional display faces the negative refractive index plate, and a refraction direction of the negative refractive index plate faces the opening.
META-LENS, IMAGING OPTICS, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
A meta-lens, an imaging optics, and an electronic device including the imaging optics are provided. The meta-lens includes at least one meta-layer having a plurality of nanostructures with a less shape dimension than an operating wavelength, modulates a phase and intensity of incident light, and forms a plurality of spots of different brightness on an imaging plane in an asymmetric distribution. The plurality of spots formed on the imaging plane include a main spot and at least one sub-spot that is separated from a center of the main spot and has lower illuminance than the main spot.
System and method for creating an invisible space
The invention relates to a method for creating a space of invisibility, which comprises: (a) providing a metamaterial plate having a subwavelength thickness, said metamaterial plate having bottom and top surfaces; (b) radiating the bottom surface of the metamaterial plate by a primary radiation thereby to form a space of invisibility above the top surface of the metamaterial plate, said space of invisibility being located within a space of a secondary radiation above the metamaterial plate which is in turn formed as a result of said primary radiation passing through metamaterial plate.
High refractive index, high Abbe compositions
Disclosed are hydrophobic, acrylic materials having both high refractive index and a high Abbe number. The materials may have an internal wetting agent, are well suited for use as implantable ophthalmic devices, and have a refractive index which may be edited through application of energy. When used for an intraocular lens, the high refractive index allows for a thin lens which compresses to allow a small incision size.
Optical imaging system
An optical imaging system includes a first lens having negative refractive power, a second lens having negative refractive power, a third lens, a fourth lens, a fifth lens, a sixth lens, and a seventh lens. The first to seventh lenses are sequentially disposed from an object side toward an image side. The third lens, the fourth lens, the sixth lens, and the seventh lens are formed of plastic, and the first lens, the second lens, and the fifth lens are formed of glass.
Thermal undercut structure for metasurface tuning
An active metasurface includes a number of periodically-repeated unit cells arranged on a substrate, each of the unit cells including a high-index dielectric block; a heat source positioned to selectively modulate heat applied to the high-index dielectric block; and an insulating undercut region at an interface between the high-index dielectric block and the substrate.
SEE-THROUGH TYPE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
A see-through type display apparatus includes an image projector configured to output image light, a waveguide configured to receive the image light output from the image projector and transmit the image light to a user's view, and a first lens having a negative refractive power and a second lens having a positive refractive power, which are arranged on both surfaces of the waveguide. Each of the first lens and the second lens includes one or more meta lenses and is configured to operate as a lens with almost no chromatic aberration, thereby implementing a thin optical system having good image quality.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF BROADBAND ACHROMATIC METASURFACE WAVEPLATES
Disclosed is a broadband achromatic metasurface waveplate including a device that includes a plurality of nanostructures physically coupled to a substrate and formed at least partially of a dielectric material having a first refractive index and an anti-reflective film applied to a surface of the device. The anti-reflective film may include a material having a second refractive index that is less than the first refractive index. The device and the anti-reflective film may modify incident light with wavelengths extending over a bandwidth of at least 100 nanometers to impart a substantially uniform phase retardation across the wavelengths and a transmittance of at least 90 percent across the wavelengths.
Cutoff modes for metasurface tuning
An active metasurface includes a number of periodically-repeated unit cells arranged on a substrate that each include a plasmonic waveguide shaped and sized to provide a cutoff mode that captures light of a target wavelength. The active metasurface includes an index modulation controller that controllably varies a voltage differential across each one of the periodically-repeated cells to change a phase of light incident on the metasurface.
