A phase-contrast microscope includes a light source section configured to emit light; a light guide including a plurality of optical fibers, the light guide transmitting the light emitted from the light source section through the plurality of optical fibers; and an object lens including a lens and an annular phase film, the annular phase film being on the side to which light passes through the lens, the object lens being configured to enlarge an image on a sample irradiated with the light transmitted by the light guide. The plurality of optical fibers include a plurality of emission faces arranged to form a ring, and the light guide is disposed in such a manner that the plurality of emission faces are in a conjugate position to the annular phase film.
External illumination with reduced detectability
Disclosed herein are techniques for providing an illumination system that emits illumination into an environment while also enabling that system to be undetectable to certain types of external light detection systems. The system includes a single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) low light (LL) detection device and a light emitting device. The light emitting device provides illumination having a wavelength of at least 950 nanometers (nm). An intensity of the illumination is set to a level that causes the illumination to be undetectable from a determined distance away based on the roll off rate of the light. While the light emitting device is providing the illumination, the SPAD LL detection device generates an image of an environment in which the illumination is being provided.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AN ABSORBANCE DETECTOR WITH OPTICAL REFERENCE
Systems and methods are provided for a UV-VIS spectrophotometer, such as a UV-VIS detector unit included in a high-performance liquid chromatography system. In one example, a system for the UV-VIS detector unit may include a first light source, a signal detector, a flow path positioned intermediate the first light source and the signal detector, a second light source, and a reference detector. The first light source, the signal detector, and the flow path may be aligned along a first axis, and the second light source and the reference detector may be aligned along a second axis, different than the first axis.
LAMP FOR VEHICLE AND VEHICLE INCLUDING THE SAME
A lamp for a vehicle includes: a light source configured to emit light; and a reflector configured to receive and reflect the light emitted from the light source. The reflector includes a first reflection surface, and a surface of the first reflection surface has an uneven shape in which a plurality of convex regions and a plurality of concave regions are repeated. A recessed section, which is recessed downward, is formed in each of the convex regions of the uneven shape, and a protrusion section, which protrudes upward, is formed in each of the concave regions of the uneven shape.
PROJECTION DISPLAY APPARATUS
A projection display apparatus includes an image light emitter that includes a light modulation element that emits image light, a projection lens unit that projects the image light on a projection target, an optical path separation element, an imaging element that images external light incident via the projection lens unit and the optical path separation element, and a condensing optical system. The optical path separation element transmits a part of the image light to the projection lens unit, and reflects a part of the external light emitted from the projection lens unit to the condensing optical system. The condensing optical system condenses the part of the external light reflected by the optical path separation element on the imaging element. A capturing angle of the external light in the condensing optical system is equal to or less than a condensing angle of a lens F-number of the projection lens unit.
LiDAR-integrated lamp device for vehicle
A LiDAR-integrated lamp device for a vehicle, wherein a headlamp and a LiDAR system are mounted at the same position, such that the layout may be reduced and the number of parts may be decreased by sharing and combining parts, reducing the manufacturing cost.

A beam delivery system according to an aspect of the present disclosure is used for an extreme ultraviolet light generation apparatus and includes a propagation mirror disposed on an optical path between a laser apparatus and a condensation optical system and configured to change the propagation direction of a pulse laser beam, and a curvature mirror disposed on an optical path between the propagation mirror and the condensation optical system and having a concave reflective surface configured to convert the pulse laser beam to be incident on the condensation optical system into a convergent beam. The curvature mirror has a focal length selected so that the beam spread angle of the pulse laser beam from the curvature mirror is constant irrespective of thermal deformation of the propagation mirror or constant with change in a predetermined allowable range irrespective of thermal deformation of the propagation mirror.

Mitigation of the harmful effects of stray-light reflections in high-energy laser systems
Reduction or elimination of negative consequences of reflected stray light from lens surfaces is achieved by propagating a laser beam through an eccentric pupil that excludes the optical axis of the system, which is rotationally symmetric. In such systems, stray light reflections eventually are focused onto the unique optical axis of the system, in either a real or virtual focal region. By using an eccentric pupil, all damage due to focusing of the stray light lies outside of the beam. These focal regions can, e.g., be physically blocked to eliminate beam paths that lead to optical damage, re-pulse beams and parasitic lasing.
