Included are a first display element configured to display a first virtual image; a second display element configured to display a second virtual image; a combining optical member configured to combine first imaging light and second imaging light; a light-guiding optical system configured to guide light that passed through the combining optical member; and a correction optical system provided between the first display element and the combining optical member and configured to correct an aberration in accordance with a positional difference between the first display element and the second display element.

Directional Backlit Display Device with Eye Tracking
20230111590 · 2023-04-13 ·

A directional backlit display device includes a light source module, a reflective narrow-angle diffuser, a backlit type display panel, an eye tracking device, and a controller. The diffuser includes a shaft and is utilized to reflect and uniformly diffuse the light to provide a uniform directional light beam. The backlit type display device panel is included on the projecting optical path of the uniform directional light beam. The uniform directional light beam illuminates an image displayed on the backlit type display device panel and projects to a projection area. The controller receives an eye position information from the eye tracking device and determines a coordinate. The controller determines a corrective projection area when the coordinate deviates from the projection area, and the drive module rotates the reflective narrow-angle diffuser around an axis of the shaft according to the corrective projection area, so the image projection area moves with the eye.

HEAD MOUNTED DISPLAY
20170307893 · 2017-10-26 ·

A head mounted display device comprises an optical combiner that combines light from a display and light from an environment into light transmitted towards a user's eye. A controllable optical element located in the light path from the environment, optically between the environment and the optical combiner, for passing light from the environment switchable between filtering and not filtering by optical blurring or diffusion. The device comprises a camera directed at the environment. A control circuit uses image data from the camera to compute a measure of contrast and/or a measure of luminance in a measurement region within an image or images captured by the camera and applies a control signal to the control input dependent on the measure of contrast and/or the measure of luminance. This is used to create or increase the filtering effect of controllable optical element with an increase of the measure of contrast and/or the measure of luminance.
