HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY SYSTEM
20230051631 · 2023-02-16 ·

A display system for a vehicle includes a display unit mounted to the vehicle and is selectively operable in a first mode as a holographic display and in a second mode as a mirror. Holographic images may include rear view images obtained from a camera or computer generated graphics. Holographic images are displayed at a virtual image plane behind the display to reduce the operator's eyes accommodation.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY APPARATUS

The present invention relates to a head-up display apparatus that projects an image of a displaying device forward. The displaying device includes a plurality of display surfaces. The direction of each of the display surfaces differs from the directions of the other display surfaces. At least one display surface is a reference display surface that projects an image in a vertical direction. Another surface is a stereoscopic inclination display surface that projects an image inclined relative to the image of the reference display surface.

VEHICLE DISPLAY DEVICE, DISPLAY METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM

A vehicle display device configured to display a predetermined image on a display region depicting a scene ahead of a vehicle, the vehicle display device including memory and a processor connected to the memory. The processor is configured to identify a traffic lane ahead of the vehicle, identify a position of the vehicle with respect to the traffic lane, set a planned position planned to be a lane change destination based on the identified position of the vehicle, and when the vehicle is to change lanes, display a direction image indicating a direction of progress of the vehicle on the display region, and alter a direction indicated by the direction image based on a relative positional relationship of the vehicle with respect to the planned position.

Holographic display system

A display system for a vehicle includes a display unit mounted to the vehicle and is selectively operable in a first mode as a holographic display and in a second mode as a mirror. Holographic images may include rear view images obtained from a camera or computer generated graphics. Holographic images are displayed at a virtual image plane behind the display to reduce the operator's eyes accommodation.

HEAD-UP DISPLAY APPARATUS

A head-up display apparatus is provided with an image emission mechanism that emits image display light, and a combiner arranged in front of an eye (or eyes) of a pilot to introduce the image display light to the eye(s) of the pilot. The head-up display apparatus is equipped with a light guide including first and second plane arranged in parallel planes, an incidence plane including a first reflector and an emission plane including a second reflector disposed between the first and second planes. The light guide is configured to reflect image display light from the emission mechanism to the combiner.

Display apparatus for use in vehicle

The present invention provides a display apparatus for use in a vehicle that prevents reduction in driver visibility and adds no constrains to vehicle interior design. The display apparatus includes an indicator unit and a reflection receiving surface. The indicator unit includes a housing, an indicator accommodated in the housing, and a face glass sheet attached to the housing in such a manner that the indicator is visible. The reflection receiving surface receives light traveling from an eye range and reflecting off the face glass sheet. the face glass sheet is formed into a cross-sectional concavity depressed toward the indicator. The concavity provides a curved surface that reflects the light from the eye range to the reflection receiving surface. The reflection receiving surface is a back surface of a vehicle structure placed at a position at which there is space between the reflection receiving surface and the face glass sheet.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING INPUT IMAGES FOR HOLOGRAPHIC WAVEGUIDE DISPLAYS

An image generation device having: a spatial light modulator; a source of light; a beam deflector; an illumination waveguide and an image transport waveguide, each waveguide containing at least one switchable grating; and a coupler for directing scanned light into a first set of TIR paths in said illumination waveguide. A switchable grating in the illumination waveguide diffracts light onto the SLM, a switchable grating in the image transport waveguide diffracting image-modulated from the SLM into a waveguide path.

AUGMENTED DEVICES

Implementations use a first device (e.g., an HMD) to provide a CGR environment that augments the input and output capabilities of a second device, e.g., a laptop, smart speaker, etc. In some implementations, the first device communicates with a second device in its proximate physical environment to exchange input or output data. For example, an HMD may capture an image of a physical environment that includes a laptop. The HMD may detect the laptop, send a request the laptop's content, receive content from the laptop (e.g., the content that the laptop is currently displaying and additional content), identify the location of the laptop, and display a virtual object with the received content in the CGR environment on or near the laptop. The size, shape, orientation, or position of the virtual object (e.g., a virtual monitor or monitor extension) may also be configured to provide a better user experience.

PROJECTION-TYPE DISPLAY DEVICE, SAFE-DRIVING SUPPORT METHOD, AND SAFE-DRIVING SUPPORT PROGRAM
20170269364 · 2017-09-21 · ·

Provided are a projection-type display device, a safe-driving support method, and a non-transitory computer readable recording medium storing a safe-driving support program capable of securing safety while providing sufficient information to a driver even in a situation where a field of vision in a traveling direction of a motor vehicle is poor. An HUD includes a light modulation unit that modulates light emitted from a light source unit; a projection unit that projects the light modulated by the light modulation unit onto a combiner; a first image information generation unit that generates first image information and outputs the first image information to the light modulation unit; a second image information generation unit that generates second image information and outputs the second image information to a display device; and a control unit that controls operations of the first image information generation unit and the second image information generation unit.

Near eye display system and method for display enhancement or redundancy

An apparatus provides a virtual display in an environment for various applications including avionic, naval, military, remote control, medical and other applications. The apparatus can be a near eye display, such as, a head up display (HUD) or head worn display (e.g., helmet mounted display (HMD), glasses-based, goggle-based, visor-based, etc.). The near eye display can include a combiner for providing one or more of: an image for a failed display, an image between two or more head down displays, or an image to direct attention to warnings or locations in the field-of-view of the combiner.
