Some embodiments may include a method assessing whether a dynamic focus module in a three axis galvanometric scanning system (three-axis GSS) is associated with a focus calibration error. The method may include identifying a reference layer associated with a surface of the work piece and positive and negative offset distances each a difference distance above or below the reference layer, respectively, and selecting a target pattern based on the offset distances, wherein the pattern includes an individual line for each offset distance. The method may include commanding the three-axis GSS to draw the target pattern on the work piece, and then assessing whether the dynamic focus module is associated with the focus calibration error by correlating laser marking artifacts on the work piece to ones of the individual lines of the selected pattern. Other embodiments may be disclosed and/or claimed.

A network device generates first resonant light used to carry information; and the network device sends the first resonant light to a terminal by using a resonant cavity component, where the resonant cavity component of the network device and a resonant cavity component of the terminal form an open resonant cavity. In wireless optical communication, an information transmission rate can be greatly improved by using a resonant light multiplexing technology. This application further discloses a network device and a terminal that can implement the foregoing wireless optical communication method.

A plurality of tilted pin-mirrors imbedded between an inner surface and an outer surface of a combiner, where the plurality of tilted pin-mirrors are configured to reflect the guided image light towards the eye box, and wherein the plurality of pin-mirrors include one or more gaps between them wherein the one or more gaps allow the passage of an ambient light through the combiner towards the eye box.

Wire bonded common electrical connection in a piezoelectric micro-electro-mechanical system scanning mirror assembly

Electrical connections are created between the actuator frame of a piezoelectric MEMS scanning mirror system and the substrate separate from the structural adhesive creating the mechanical bond between the actuator frame and the substrate. A structural bond (with no conducive properties) is formed between the actuator frame and the substrate. After the bond is fully formed, separate electric connections can be created by one or both of: 1) coating the actuator frame with a coating that enables a surface of the actuator frame to be wire bondable and creating a wire bond between the actuator frame and the substrate; or 2) depositing a trace of conductive material on the outside edge of the mechanical bond between the actuator frame and the substrate and a final protection layer may be applied over the conductive trace to protect the trace from mechanical or environmental damage.

A micro-electronic non-landing mirror system includes a substrate, at least two supporting assemblies, at least two driving electrodes, a rotating mirror, and a driving circuit. The rotating mirror is elastically supported on the supporting assemblies through elastic reset assemblies. When the driving circuit applies a driving voltage, the rotating mirror moves closer to the driving electrode to which the driving voltage is applied within a range of movement that does not land on the substrate. When the driving circuit removes the driving voltage, the rotating mirror gets back to move away from the driving electrode under elastic restoring force of the elastic reset assemblies. Each elastic reset assembly includes at least two elastic reset units connected to different corners of the rotating mirror by a corresponding one supporting assembly. Each elastic reset unit is configured for providing the rotating mirror with at least two rotational degrees of freedom.
