METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DISTRIBUTING LANDMARK POSITIONS IN A POSITIONAL TRACKING SYSTEM
A fixed map augmented reality system includes at least one beacon, a detector on a headset and a displayer. The beacon is mounted on or integrated with a physical element and emits light modulated with fixed map data related to a location of the light-emitting element of the physical element. When viewing the beacon, the detector decodes the modulated light into the fixed map data and determines a physical relationship of the beacon with respect to the detector. The displayer uses the physical relationship to generate a display overlay on the headset of the fixed map data related to the physical element. The display overlay includes a human-readable message of data related to the physical element and a display connection connecting the human-readable message to a location in a frame-of-reference associated with the physical element.
Technologies for multi-randomized audio-visual entrainment
Technologies that stimulate the mammalian central nervous system are described. A method includes: (a) causing a pair of glasses to be worn by a user, where the pair of glasses hosts/interacts with a processor, a first light source, a second light source, a first sound source, and a second sound source; (b) causing the processor to read sets of parameters that include information regarding base frequencies, variability, frequency ranges, and time ranges, where the frequency ranges are positively and negatively off the base frequencies; and (c) causing the processor to request the light sources to (i) flash light to visual fields (left/right) of each eye according to selected frequencies for a duration of time and to (ii) pulse sound to the each ear according to selected frequencies for a duration of time such that an audio-visual entrainment (AVE) occurs that causes neuron and the glia to respond dynamically to the AVE. The frequencies are randomly selected from a frequency range and the duration of stimulation time is randomly selected from a time range.
Colorimetric assays
A device and a method of using the device for improving sensitivity, speed, and easy-to-use of a colorimetric assay of a liquid sample are provided. The device includes a first plate and a second plate, spacers, and a textured surface. The two plates each have a sample contact surface and are movable relative to each other into an open configuration or a closed configuration. The sample is deposited on one or both plates in the open configuration. Thereafter, the closed configuration is formed where the plates compress at least part of the deposited sample into a continuous layer. The textured surface is disposed on the sample contact surface of the second plate and has a textured structure that scatters light, from which an optical signal such as a colorimetric or fluorescent signal can be obtained for analyzing the sample.
AUGMENTED REALITY SLIDE SORTER
The present invention includes an apparatus and method that facilitates the manual sorting of slides into slide folders. The apparatus includes a horizontal display surface and a controller configured to receive slides and folders into which the slides are to be placed (or sorted). The controller operates components of the apparatus to selectively illuminate the display surface to guide a user in placing folders at multiple folder locations and in sorting the slides into the folders. In one aspect of the invention, the apparatus is configured to allow multiple folders to be stacked at a folder location during the slide sorting process. In these aspects, the apparatus is configured to determine number of folders stacked at each folder location.
Full resolution color imaging of an object
The invention relates generally to both a method and apparatus for the creation of full resolution color digital images of diagnostic cassettes or objects of interest using a gray-scale digital camera or sensor combined with time sequential illumination using additive primary colors followed by post exposure digital processing. Such procedures and equipment is of significant economic value when employed in situations such as diagnostic clinical analyzers where space is limited and image quality requirements are high.
Display Device
The present disclosed subject matter relates to a display device for displaying an image to an eye, comprising a support mounting a light source and a mirror assembly. The light source is configured to emit a visible light beam carrying the image towards the mirror assembly, and the mirror assembly is configured to angularly oscillate and deflect the emitted visible light beam towards the eye. A light sensor is mounted on the support and configured to record return light received via said mirror assembly from the eye. The display device further comprises a processor connected to the light sensor and configured to detect a state of the eye from the recorded return light.
Multifunctional illuminated lighting pad
A multifunctional illuminated lighting pad is an apparatus that enables a user to write with one hand, rather than requiring a hand to hold a clipboard or writing surface and another hand to write down information. The apparatus provides a mechanism by which to secure to a user, thus preventing difficulty or danger resulting from a loose clipboard. An illumination source provides ample light, allowing the user to read and write in otherwise poorly-lit areas. A portion of the opaque backing may be secured to a user's pocket and molded to the rough curvature of a leg. An exposed portion of a backing surface holds a writing surface, an LED, and a clip. A thumb-pull cut allows the user to insert or remove a reference sheet from between the plexiglass front plate and the backing, thus allowing the user to refer to information behind the plexiglass front plate while writing.

Electronic device for providing property information of external light source for interest object
An electronic device and method are provided guiding image capturing based on property information of an external light source. The electronic device includes a camera, a display, and a processor. The processor is configured to obtain an image using the camera; identify a face included in the image; determine a first brightness value for a first region of the identified face and a second brightness value for a second region of the identified face; determine property information of an external light source for the identified face, based on the first brightness value and the second brightness value; and provide, through the display, guide information corresponding to the property information of the external light source for the identified face.
