Image display device having maximum emission angle of image light smaller than maximum viewing angle of virtual image

The image display device includes an image generating unit that emits first image light, a pupil expanding element that expands a diameter of a light flux included in the first image light from the image generating unit to obtain second image light, a first light condensing optical system that condenses the second image light and forms an intermediate image, and a second light condensing optical system that condenses light from the intermediate image and generates a virtual image on eye of a viewer, in a plane including at least the image generating unit, the pupil expanding element, and the eye of the viewer, a maximum emission angle of the first image light is smaller than a maximum viewing angle of the virtual image, and the diameter of the light flux included in the second image light is greater than that of a light flux included in the virtual image.

Optical system for displaying magnified virtual image

An optical system for displaying a magnified virtual image of an image emitted by a display to a viewer. The optical system includes first and second lenses facing each other and spaced apart by an air gap to define an optical cavity therebetween. The optical cavity includes a reflective polarizer disposed on a major surface of the first lens, and an optical stack disposed on a major surface of the second lens. The optical stack includes an absorbing polarizer, a first retarder layer, a partial reflector, and a second retarder layer disposed between the absorbing polarizer and the partial reflector. The first and/or second lenses is/are birefringent lens provided outside the optical cavity to control polarization.

PACKING STRUCTURE

A packing structure including a first packing component, a second packing component, and two lenses is provided. The second packing component is adapted to be combined with the first packing component detachably, such that a containing space is formed between the first packing component and the second packing component. The containing space is adapted to contain an electronic device. The two lenses are disposed on the second packing component. An image displayed by a display surface of the electronic device is adapted to be transmitted to outside of the containing space through the two lenses, so as to form a virtual reality image.

Desktop electronic magnifier

A desktop electronic magnifier in a first embodiment includes a monitor and a control panel mounted to the monitor so that access to the control panel cannot be blocked by any position of the monitor. In a second embodiment, a monitor is positioned atop a flat platform that surmounts the camera so that access to the control panel cannot be blocked by any position of the monitor. In a third embodiment, the control panel is mounted to the camera and the monitor is supported by a support surface independent of the magnifier. Access to the control panel is blocked only if the user positions the monitor in blocking relation to the control panel.
