A wearable display device includes a light source, a beam scanner, a pupil-replicating lightguide, and a detector. The light source is configured to emit an image beam and a ranging beam. The beam scanner co-scans both beams. The image beam is used to form an image in angular domain for displaying to a user of the wearable display device, and a ranging beam is used to scan outside environment at the same time. Light reflected from objects in the outside environment is detected by the detector, and a 3D map of the outside environment is built using time-of-flight measurements of the reflected signal and/or triangulation. For triangulation measurements, the detector may include a digital camera.

AN EYE TRACKING DEVICE AND METHOD THEREOF

The present invention relates to a stereo eye tracking technique. The eye tracking device comprises a processing unit configured and operable for receiving at least one image being indicative of a user's eye; identifying in the image a first data being indicative of pupil's parameters; receiving a second data being indicative of an alternative eye tracking, wherein the second data is more accurate than the first data; and correlating between the first and second data and determining a three-dimensional position and gaze direction of the user's eye.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A LIGHT PROJECTOR MODULE

The disclosed subject matter relates to a method of manufacturing a light projector module, comprising the steps of: providing a base plate, a light source on the base plate, and a micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) scanning assembly, wherein the base plate has, between the light source and the MEMS scanning assembly, a mounting surface accessible at one side of the base plate; positioning a set of one or more lenses on the mounting surface and adjusting the position of the one or more lenses of the set while the light source is emitting and at least one light beam projected by the light projector module is monitored in a display area; and mounting the one or more lenses of the set in the adjusted position fixedly on the base plate.

An optical combiner includes a first layer with a periodic arrangement of structures of a material with a first refractive index. A second layer overlies the structures on the first layer, and the second layer includes a material with a second refractive index. A difference between the first refractive index and the second refractive index, measured at 587.5 nm, is less than 1.5. The periodic arrangement of structures is configured such that the optical combiner produces, for an input signal incident on the first layer from air at an oblique elevation angle of greater than 20°, an output signal with three reflection peaks, each reflection peak having an average reflection of greater than 50% within a ±3° range of the elevation angle.

A display for displaying an image to a viewer includes an image generator having an illumination subsystem generating illumination of at least a first color, the image generator employing the illumination to generate an image. Projection optics projects illumination from the image for display to the viewer. The illumination subsystem includes a first laser generating a first laser beam of the first color with a first polarization and a second laser generating a second laser beam of the first color with a second polarization. The first and second polarizations are orthogonal at at least one location within the projection optics, thereby projecting a quasi-unpolarized image.

LIGHT PROJECTOR MODULE

The disclosed subject matter relates to a light projector module, comprising: a base plate, a light source on one side of the base plate, a micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) scanning assembly on the base plate, and a set of at least one lens mounted on the one side of the base plate between the light source and the MEMS scanning assembly, wherein the MEMS scanning assembly has an arm mounted on and extending from the other side of the base plate, a scanning mirror being movably mounted on the arm and facing the base plate, and wherein a light guide is mounted on the base plate or the arm for directing the at least one light beam from the lens set on the one side to the scanning mirror on the arm extending from said other side of the base plate.

Optical module

An optical module includes a light-forming unit to form light. The light-forming unit includes a base member having an electronic temperature control module, a base plate, a plurality of submounts, and a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) base. The light-forming unit also includes a plurality of laser diodes arranged on the submounts, a filter arranged on the base plate and located to receive the light emitted from the plurality of laser diodes and multiplex the emitted light, a MEMS arranged on the MEMS base and located to receive the light multiplexed by the filter. The MEMS includes a scanning mirror to scan the light multiplexed by the filter, and the electronic temperature control module regulates a temperature range of the MEMS. The light-forming unit also includes a protective member surrounding and sealing the light-forming unit, which includes a base body and a lid welded to the base body.

BEAM COMBINING MODULE AND BEAM SCANNING PROJECTOR SYSTEM

A beam combining module combines a first beam corresponding to a first wavelength and a second beam corresponding to a second wavelength. The beam combining module includes a collimating lens, a first mirror, and second mirror. The collimating lens is configured to receive the first beam and the second beam that are parallel to each other and to emit the first beam and the second beam in respective non-parallel directions. The first mirror is configured to reflect the first beam emitted by the collimating lens. The second mirror is configured to reflect the second beam emitted by the collimating lens in a direction parallel to the first beam reflected by the first mirror and in such a manner that the second beam emitted by the collimating lens spatially overlaps the first beam reflected by the first mirror.

Display device and method of operating the same

A display device includes a first light source configured to emit first pixel light in each of which lights of a plurality of different wavelengths are mixed with one another, a second light source configured to emit a plurality of second pixel lights in each of which lights of a plurality of different wavelengths are mixed with one another, and an optical scanner configured to output an image including the plurality of first pixel lights and the plurality of second pixel lights to an external space by sequentially changing travelling paths of the plurality of first pixel lights and the plurality of second pixel lights.
