An area between the central axes of two adjacent light-shielding strips is divided into a first subarea disposed on a first side and a second subarea disposed on a second side by a central axis of a light-transmitting strip between the two adjacent light-shielding strips; subpixels whose area falling into the first subarea is greater than ½ subpixel area are first viewpoint subpixels; and subpixels whose area falling into the second subarea is greater than ½ subpixel area are second viewpoint subpixels.
3D display apparatus in which a display panel has a curvature
A 3D display apparatus in which a display panel has a curvature is provided. A lower barrier layer, an upper barrier layer and lenticular lenses may be sequentially stacked on the display panel. The lower barrier layer and the upper barrier layer may include openings corresponding pixel areas of the display panel, respectively. Each opening of the lower barrier layer and each opening of the upper barrier layer may be disposed on an imaginary line passing through the corresponding pixel area of the display panel and a setting region. Thus, in the 3D display apparatus, the quality of the realized 3D image may be improved.

LIGHT-FIELD VIRTUAL AND MIXED REALITY SYSTEM HAVING FOVEATED PROJECTION
The present disclosure concerns a light-field projection system, comprising a pin-light array generating an incident light-field illuminating an optical light modulator for modulating the incident light-field and projecting a plurality of modulated light-field components along a projection axis; a first optical element configured for forming first pin-light images in a first pin-light plane and modulator images in a modulator image plane; and a second optical element defining an eye-box region and for forming second pin-light images in a second pin-light plane within the eye-box; the first and second pin-light planes and the modulator image plane being substantially perpendicular to the projection axis; the system further comprising at least one optical device at the first pin-light plane and being configured for interacting with at least one of the modulated light-field components, spatially shifting the modulated light-field components in the modulator image plane. The light-field projection allows for foveated projection.
Method for operating a visual field display device for a motor vehicle
A method operates a visual field display device, particularly for a motor vehicle, which includes an autostereoscopic planar pixel array for generating a projecting light beam containing a display content, and is designed to project this onto a partially transparent, reflective projection screen, particularly a front windscreen of the motor vehicle, in such a way that a virtual display image superimposed into a field of vision of a user is generated behind the screen. The method provides at least one surroundings parameter and/or user parameter, and switches between at least two qualitatively different 3D, 2D and/or monocular operating modes of the planar pixel array, depending on the surroundings parameters and/or user parameters provided, in order to adapt the virtual display image to qualitative operational changes relating to the surroundings and/or the user of the visual field display device.
METHOD FOR CREATING A 3D MULTIVIEW DISPLAY WITH ELASTIC OPTICAL LAYER BUCKLING
Systems and methods are described for providing a display. In some embodiments, a display device includes a light-emitting layer with an addressable array of light-emitting elements such as OLEDs. A flexible optical layer overlays the light-emitting layer. The flexible optical layer has a plurality of lens regions, where optical powers of the lens regions change in response to changing levels of tensile or compressive force on the flexible optical layer. When no force is applied, the lens regions may have no optical power, and the display may operate as a 2D display. When force is applied (e.g. by bending the display), the lens regions may operate as cylindrical lenses in a lenticular array, and the display may be operated as a 3D multiview display.
