The ophthalmic lens further includes a first layer disposed on the edge surface, wherein the first layer includes a coating material effective to reduce a reflection caused by a profile of the edge surface, and wherein (a) the first layer defines a structural element for fastening the ophthalmic lens to an eyewear frame, or (b) the ophthalmic lens further includes a second layer disposed on the first layer, wherein the second layer defines a structural element for fastening the ophthalmic lens to an eyewear frame. Each of the temples has one end connected to the front frame so as to be openable and closeable relative to the front frame. The lens assembly has a light transmission part for transmitting light, and a pair of connected parts are respectively connected to the connecting parts at a time of attachment to the front frame, so that the lens assembly can be detachably attached to the front frame. The engagement members are respectively provided to the temples, and are configured to move toward and away from the front frame in association with opening and closing motions of the temples, so that the engagement members are engageable with the lens assembly.

The first lens body and flange define a main cavity. The flange has a first joint surface. The lightguide is disposed at least partially in the main cavity. The second lens includes a second lens body positioned in stack with the lightguide and the first lens body. The second lens has a second joint surface in opposing relation to the first joint surface. The second lens is attached to the first lens by a joint formed between the first joint surface and the second joint surface.

EYEWEAR HAVING A PIVOTABLE LENS RETAINER

Eyewear of the present disclosure may include a frame having left and right rims, and a central bridge portion coupling the left rim to the right rim. A lens retainer has a first end pivotably coupled to an upper member of the central bridge portion and a second end releasably latched to a lower member of the central bridge portion. A lens is disposed on a front side of the eyewear frame and clamped to the frame by the lens retainer.
