Method and apparatus for constructing a contact lens with optics
Various embodiments of the present invention provide systems, methods, and processes for constructing a contact lens. In one embodiment, a contact lens assembly is provided, comprising: a curved polymer polarizer with an aperture; a lenslet disposed inside the aperture wherein the lenslet enables imaging near objects; and a filter attached to the lenslet. In further embodiments, a method for fabricating a flexible contact lens is provided, comprising: fabricating an element having an extrusion; providing a front concave mold, wherein the front mold has an intrusion to accommodate the extrusion of the optical element; affixing the extrusion of the optical element to the intrusion of the front mold; attaching a back convex mold to the front concave mold, thereby forming a mold cavity; and filling the mold cavity with a pre-polymerized liquid, whereby upon polymerization, the pre-polymerized liquid forms the flexible contact lens and the optical element is partially encapsulated within the lens.
HIGH DEFINITION AND EXTENDED DEPTH OF FIELD INTRAOCULAR LENS
An intraocular lens configured to provide an extended depth-of-field. The lens includes a virtual aperture, the virtual aperture that includes a plurality of hexagonal micro-structures. A first plurality of light rays incident on an anterior optical surface passes through an optical zone to form an image on a retina when the intraocular lens is implanted in an eye. A second plurality of light rays incident on an anterior virtual aperture surface are dispersed widely downstream from the intraocular lens towards and across the retina, such that the image comprises the extended depth-of-field.
SPECTACLE LENS AND A METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SPECTACLE LENS
A spectacle lens for at least one eye of a user, a method for producing a spectacle lens, and a computer program product having executable instructions for performing the method for producing the spectacle lens are disclosed. The spectacle lens has a permanent marking which is or contains a diffractive structure, wherein a diffractive pattern generated by illumination of the diffractive structure is configured to be invisible upon a first kind of illumination and configured to be visible only upon a second kind of illumination. The permanent markings on the spectacle lens are, on one hand, invisible to the user or to a spectator looking at the user wearing the spectacle lens without utilizing specially selected optical aids but, on the other hand, enables continued control of the spectacle lens in front of the eye of the user by an optician or a specifically designated optical sensor.
MYOPIA-CONTROL CONTACT LENSES AND METHODS RELATING THERETO
An ophthalmic lens (112′, 200) for use in preventing or slowing the development or progression of myopia comprises an optic zone (202) for focusing light from distant point objects to a focal surface. The optic zone comprises a diffractive lens (206) for manipulating the longitudinal chromatic aberration properties of the light proximate the focal surface.
Optical device adapted to be worn by a wearer
The invention relates to an optical device (10) adapted to be worn by a wearer comprising at least: —a programmable lens (20) having an adjustable optical function and extending between at least one eye of the wearer and the real world scene when the optical device is worn by the wearer, —an optical function controller (30) comprising —a memory (32) storing at least computer executable instructions; and —a processor (34) for executing the stored computer executable instructions so as to control the optical function of the programmable lens (20), wherein the computer executable instructions comprise instructions for adjusting the optical function of the programmable lens (20) over a period of time determined so that the wearer does not perceive the adjustment of the optical function.
Accommodation bifocal optical assembly and optical system including same
A device includes a light source configured to emit an image light. The device also includes an optical assembly configured to direct the image light to an eye-box of the device. The optical assembly includes a first optical element portion configured to focus a first portion of the image light propagating through the first optical element portion. The optical assembly also includes a second optical element portion configured to focus a second portion of the image light propagating through the second optical element portion. The second optical element portion includes a liquid crystal (“LC”) lens having an adjustable optical power.
CONTACT LENS FOR AUGMENTED REALITY AND METHOD THEREOF
The contact lens (100) for augmented reality comprises: a transparent body (102) designed to be placed on an eye (104); and at least one augmented reality module comprising an optical source (114) attached to the transparent body (102) and designed to emit a light into the transparent body, and an optical element (116) attached to the transparent body (102) and designed to receive the light from the optical source (114) and send it in the direction of the eye (104).
The optical element (116) is a hologram designed to diffract the received light as a holographic image in the direction of the eye (104).
Tear shaping for refractive correction
A lens for refractive tear shaping, including a curved lens body defining an anterior partial thickness cavity indented into its anterior surface. The anterior partial thickness cavity has an anterior facing tear shaping surface structured to form a tear lens within the anterior partial thickness cavity. The anterior partial thickness cavity is structured to define a tear lens within the anterior partial thickness cavity by interaction between a tear film of the eye and the anterior facing base tear shaping surface. The posterior curvature of the tear lens is dependent on the shape of the anterior facing base tear shaping surface.
