The color separation element includes a first element overlapping the pixel and a second element overlapping the opening, the first element separates illumination light from the illumination device into light of a plurality of colors and irradiates the pixel with the light, and the second element separates illumination light from the illumination device into light of a plurality of colors and irradiates the opening with the light.

DISPLAY DEVICE

A display device includes a first liquid crystal display, a decorative member, an illuminator, and a controller. The decorative member is disposed on a display surface side of the first liquid crystal display, and includes a first display region in which a display of the first liquid crystal display is transparently displayed and a first non-display region adjacent to the first display region. The illuminator illuminates the first non-display region from the back surface. The controller controls, in accordance with a luminance of a first black display region, of the first display region, that corresponds to a black display portion the first liquid crystal display, an amount of illumination light emitted from the illuminator toward the first non-display region.

Color conversion panel and display device including the same

A display device includes: a substrate including an alignment area in a non-display area, and a display area including a plurality of material layers on the substrate; in the alignment area, a plurality of keys including a first alignment key and a second alignment key. Each alignment key includes a light blocking pattern, a layer pattern and a display pattern. The position of the display pattern within the first alignment key is different from the position of the display pattern within the second alignment key, the layer pattern of the alignment key and one material layer among the plurality of material layers are respective portions of a same material layer on the substrate, and the layer pattern of the first alignment key and the layer pattern of the second alignment key are respective portions of different material layers among the plurality of material layers on the substrate.

Marks for privacy display

A switchable privacy display comprises a spatial light modulator with output polariser, a reflective polariser, a polar control liquid crystal retarder and an additional polariser. The electrodes of the polar control liquid crystal retarder are patterned with a mark. In wide angle and narrow angle operational modes, the electrodes of the liquid crystal retarder are driven such that the mark is not visible. In a mark display state, the electrodes are driven to provide visibility of the mark in reflected light to an off-axis observer.

A liquid crystal display with an identifier such as a watermark, serial number, logo or other graphic design, is disclosed. The identifiers can be read electronically or with the human eye. Methods are described for fabricating identifiers on cholesteric writing tablets in particular, with varying shades of gray and hence different degrees of visibility. The identifiers are permanent and not erased when a liquid crystal image on the display is erased.

Alignment system

An alignment system includes: a light emitting device located on one side of an object to be aligned for emitting light towards the object to be aligned; a light receiving device located on the other side of the object to be aligned and at a standard position corresponding to an alignment mark disposed on the object to be aligned, the light receiving device being provided with a plurality of light sensors for sensing light emitting from the light emitting device on an end surface facing the object to be aligned; a processor configured to receive sensing signals transmitted from each of the light sensors and determine whether the object to be aligned is aligned accurately according to whether each of the light sensors sense the light emitted from the light emitting device. This alignment system shortens the processing time and enhances the processing efficiency.

Display apparatus and method for producing a marker in the display apparatus

The present disclosure provides a display apparatus, comprising an array substrate and a color filter substrate, wherein a black matrix and an alignment film are coated sequentially on a part of an inner surface of the color filter substrate, and wherein another alignment film is coated on a part of an inner surface of the array substrate, and wherein the inner surface of the array substrate has an edge which is adhered by a sealant to an edge of the inner surface of the color filter substrate, and wherein a first marker region for marking unitary display screens in the same batch of exposure is arranged on the inner surface of the array substrate at a source end at the bottom of the display apparatus, and wherein a second marker region for marking unitary display screens in different batches of exposure is arranged inside the bottom of the sealant perpendicular to the array substrate and the color filter substrate and between the array substrate and the color filter substrate. The present disclosure also provides a method for producing a display apparatus. The present invention solves a problem that Panel ID marking process limits the capacity of production and the Panel ID occupies large space in the peripheral regions of the display screens. It improves the capacity of production in the production line efficiently while optimizing the design spaces of the peripheral regions of the display screens.
