HOLOGRAPHIC DISPLAY SYSTEM
A display system for a vehicle includes a display unit mounted to the vehicle and is selectively operable in a first mode as a holographic display and in a second mode as a mirror. Holographic images may include rear view images obtained from a camera or computer generated graphics. Holographic images are displayed at a virtual image plane behind the display to reduce the operator's eyes accommodation.

A light-concentrating device, a light-concentrating display screen, and an electric product are provided. The light-concentrating device includes a light-concentrating plate. The light-concentrating plate includes dimming units, each dimming unit including a house, the house being filled with first light-transmissive liquid and second light-transmissive liquid insoluble with each other. Light may be refracted when passing through the interface between the first light-transmissive liquid and the second light-transmissive liquid. Adjustment electrodes are provided on sides of the house, and a common electrode layer is provided at an end of the house. The voltages may be applied between the common electrode layer and the adjustment electrodes on the sides of the house.
Display device including streak-like polymer with liquid crystal molecules
According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first display panel, and a polarizer opposed to the first display panel and having a transmission axis for transmitting linearly polarized light. The first display panel includes a first substrate, a second substrate opposed to the first substrate, and a first liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate and including streak-like polymers and liquid crystal molecules. An extension direction of the polymers is substantially orthogonal to the transmission axis.
Laser illumination device
An Electrically Switchable Bragg Grating (ESBG) despeckler device comprising at least one ESBG element recorded in a hPDLC sandwiched between transparent substrates to which transparent conductive coatings have been applied. At least one of said coatings is patterned to provide a two-dimensional array of independently switchable ESBG pixels. Each ESBG pixel has a first unique speckle state under said first applied voltage and a second unique speckle state under said second applied voltage.
Light emitting device and display apparatus
The present disclosure provides a light emitting device and a display apparatus, The light emitting device includes a substrate, and a first electrode, a light emitting layer and a second electrode which are sequentially disposed on the substrate, an electrochromic substrate is disposed on the second electrode; the light emitting device further includes a chromaticity instrument, a processor, and a driver; the chromaticity instrument is configured to acquire chromaticity of light emitted by the light emitting device; the processor is configured to calculate compensated chromaticity for the light emitted by the light emitting device according to the chromaticity of the light emitted by the light emitting device acquired by the chromaticity instrument, and calculate an electrical signal according to the compensated chromaticity for the light emitted by the light emitting device.
Broadband and wide viewing angle waveplate having pi-cell
An optical element is provided. The optical element includes a positive-C film including a liquid crystal (“LC”) layer. The optical element also includes a positive-A film. The optical element also includes a negative biaxial retardation film disposed between the positive-A film and the positive-C film.
Electronic device
According to one embodiment, an electronic device includes a liquid crystal panel and a camera. The liquid crystal panel includes a display area and an incident light control area. The camera overlaps the incident light control area. The incident light control area includes a first annular light-shielding portion and a second annular light-shielding portion formed inside the first annular light-shielding portion.
Display backlight illumination of a housing perimeter
An information handling system display manages direction of illumination from an internal backlight to illuminate the display perimeter. A translucent material disposed between a liquid crystal display panel and backlight manages a color of backlight illumination applied at the display perimeter. In various alternative embodiments, the translucent material selectively adjusts light transmission characteristics to adjust light that passes to a frontside of the liquid crystal display panel.
Switchable polarization retarder array for active zonal illumination of display
An optical device for illuminating one or more portions of a spatial light modulator includes a waveguide, an array of tunable retarders, and a polarization selective optical element. A respective tunable retarder is optically coupled to receive light from the waveguide. The respective tunable retarder has a first state, which causes the respective tunable retarder to direct light having a first polarization in a first direction, and a second state, which causes the respective tunable retarder to direct light having a second polarization distinct from the first polarization in the first direction. The polarization selective optical element is located adjacent to the array of tunable retarders so that the light having the first polarization propagates from the polarization selective optical element in a second direction and the light having the second polarization propagates from the polarization selective optical element in a third direction distinct from the second direction.
Marks for privacy display
A switchable privacy display comprises a spatial light modulator with output polariser, a reflective polariser, a polar control liquid crystal retarder and an additional polariser. The electrodes of the polar control liquid crystal retarder are patterned with a mark. In wide angle and narrow angle operational modes, the electrodes of the liquid crystal retarder are driven such that the mark is not visible. In a mark display state, the electrodes are driven to provide visibility of the mark in reflected light to an off-axis observer.
