LED ILLUMINATED PROJECTOR
A projector for generating a frame of an image is disclosed, comprising an array of elements arranged in a plane, each element comprising at least three LEDs which have different respective colours, and an array of collector structures, each configured to receive light from a single LED at any one time and reduce the angle over which the LED emits light. A projector unit is configured to receive the light from the array of collector structures and collimate the light such that a full colour frame is formed from combining a plurality of subframes formed through a spatial movement of the array of elements with respect to the array of collector structures such that each collector structure receives light from a different LED during each subframe, and/or a displacement of the light emitted from each LED such that the light from each LED illuminates multiple pixels of the frame.

Projection apparatus and illumination system
A projection apparatus and an illumination system that includes an excitation light source, a beam filter module, a wavelength conversion module and a homogenizing element are provided. The beam filter module includes a light effective region and is disposed on a transmission path of an excitation beam. The wavelength conversion module includes a wavelength conversion region and is disposed on a transmission path of the excitation beam reflected by the light effective region. The wavelength conversion region converts the excitation beam into a conversion beam. The conversion beam from the wavelength conversion module passes through the light effective region and then forms at least one color light. An optical axis of the excitation beam incident on the light effective region and a normal line of the light effective region are respectively not parallel to a central axis of the homogenizing element.
PROJECTION SYSTEM
A projection system includes a light source system for generating a first light beam in a first timing sequence and for generating a second light beam in a second timing sequence, the first light beam comprising a first light and a first compensation light and the second light beam comprising a second light or comprising the second light and a first compensation light. A light splitting device sequentially divides the first light beam and the second light beam into a light transmitting along a first light path and a light transmitting along a second light path. A first light modulating device modulates the light travelling along the first light path, and a second light modulating device modulates the light travelling along the second light path. The first light or the second light is compensated by the first compensation light to have a wider color gamut of a synthesized color image.
Projection display system
A projection display system, including light emitting device, light splitting device, first, second and third light modulators. The light emitting device emits first light and second light in time sequence. The light splitting device splits the first and second light into first and second wavelength range light along first and second optical paths, respectively, and guides part of the second light along the first optical path. The first and second light modulators modulate the light along the first and second optical paths, respectively; the light modulated by the first and second light modulators is combined to obtain third light along third optical path. The third light modulator is in optical path between the light emitting device and the light splitting device and modulates the first and second light from the light emitting device; or the third light modulator is in the third optical path and modulates the third light.
Light modulator image display projector architectures
In described examples, a first TIR or RTIR element is arranged to introduce at least red light to a first spatial light modulator for modulation thereof, and a second TIR or RTIR element is arranged to introduce at least green light to a second spatial light modulator for modulation thereof. At least one of the first and second TIR or RTIR elements is arranged to introduce blue light to at least one of the first and second spatial light modulators, respectively, for modulation thereof: time-sequentially apart from the first spatial light modulator's modulation of the introduced red light, to an extent the blue light is so introduced to the first spatial light modulator; and time-sequentially apart from the second spatial light modulator's modulation of the introduced green light, to an extent the blue light is so introduced to the second spatial light modulator.
