IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a first image forming portion, a second image forming portion, a belt, a charging voltage applying portion, and a transfer voltage applying portion. With respect to a movement direction of a recording material, the first image forming portion is provided upstream of the second image forming portion. In an image forming operation, a potential difference between a first transfer voltage and a potential at a first transfer portion, which is formed on a first image bearing member and does not form the image, is greater than a potential difference between a second transfer voltage and a potential at a second transfer portion, which is formed on a second image bearing member and does not form an image.
Image forming apparatus that determines whether or not plurality of rotating bodies are in state of contact
A control circuit executes voltage adjustment processing of adjusting a voltage output from a transfer power source so that a current detected by a detection circuit becomes a predetermined current value. The voltage adjustment processing is executed before a toner image is transferred from at least one of a first image bearing member and a second image bearing member to an intermediate transfer belt. A processor determines whether the second transfer member is in a state of contact or is in a state of separation on the basis of behavior of the current detected by the detection circuit in a period in which the control circuit is executing the voltage adjustment processing.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes: a sensing portion configured to sense a current that flows through a secondary transfer member, or a voltage that has been applied; and a controller configured to perform an operation to determine a transfer voltage to be applied to the secondary transfer member in secondary transfer, on a basis of a result of sensing performed by the sensing portion at a time when a test voltage has been applied to the secondary transfer member in non-image formation, and the controller performs, in the operation, controlling a first application portion and a second application portion not to apply the voltage to a primary transfer member during a period of applying the test voltage to the secondary transfer member.
Image forming apparatus that can enhance usability by reducing the number of times a chart is placed on a reading device
An image forming apparatus that includes an image bearing member which can bear a toner image, a transfer member used to transfer a toner image onto a recording material from the image bearing member, and a reading device which reads density information of images on recording material disposed on a platen. The image forming apparatus forms a first chart on a first recording material and a second chart on a second recording material by sequentially transferring a plurality of test images while applying a plurality of test voltages to the transfer member. The two charts are read by the reading device and the transfer voltage is adjusted based on the reading result.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image bearing member, an intermediary transfer belt, a primary transfer roller provided so that a contact region between the roller and the belt and a contact region between the image bearing member and the belt are in a non-overlapping state with each other with respect to a movement direction of the belt, a primary transfer voltage source, a current detecting portion, an executing portion configured to acquire information on a discharge start voltage on the basis of a detection result of the detecting portion in a period other than a period of primary transfer by applying the voltage to the roller; and a setting portion configured to set, on the basis of an execution result of the executing portion, a primary transfer voltage applied to the roller by the primary transfer voltage source in the period of the primary transfer.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a first image forming portion, a second image forming portion, a belt, a charging voltage applying portion, and a transfer voltage applying portion. With respect to a movement direction of the recording material, the first image forming portion is provided upstream of the second image forming portion. In an image forming operation, a potential difference between the first transfer voltage and a potential, at the first transfer portion, which is formed on the first image bearing member and does not form the image is larger than a potential difference between the second transfer voltage and a potential, at the second transfer portion, which is formed on the second image bearing member and does not form the image.

IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming device that forms an image on a recording medium and circuitry that controls the image forming device. The image forming device forms an invisible image with an invisible material on the recording medium and forms a visible image with a visible material on the invisible image. Each of first and second adhesion amounts includes respective adhesion amounts of the visible material and the invisible material per unit area in a portion, in which the visible image is formed on the invisible image, of the composite image. The second adhesion amount is smaller than the first adhesion amount. The controller adjusts the amount of the invisible material included in the second adhesion amount to be smaller than that included in the first adhesion amount, to cause the image forming device to form the image according to the second adhesion amount.
