The image forming device forms an image based on print information, on a first conveyance medium. The sensor acquires information about the image formed on the first conveyance medium. The processing circuitry causes a second conveyance medium to be ejected in a case where the image formed on the first conveyance medium is a defective image, based on the acquired information. The ejection device stacks the first conveyance medium and the second conveyance medium. The processing circuitry controls display of identification information that distinguishes and associates each one of a plurality of first conveyance media having defective images, with a corresponding one of a plurality of second conveyance media.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a reading unit, a heating unit, and an updating unit. The reading unit reads area designation information for designating an area to be decolored in areas of a sheet on which an image that can be decolored by heating is formed and history information for indicating the number of times of performing decoloration in the past for each area of the sheet from a wireless tag attached to the sheet. The heating unit heats the area based on the area designation information read by the reading unit. The updating unit updates the history information stored in the wireless tag which corresponds to the area heated by the heating unit.

An image processing apparatus includes a scanner configured to read an image formed on a sheet along a reading direction and generate image data thereof, and a processor. The processor is configured to select a first region of the generated image data into which a first image indicating the reading direction is to be combined, set a pixel value of the first image in accordance with a pixel value of a pixel around the first region, and combine the first image having the determined pixel value into the first region of the image data and output the combined image data.

An image processing system includes an image forming device, a sensor, processing circuitry, and an ejection device. The image forming device forms an image based on print information, on a first conveyance medium. The sensor acquires information about the image formed on the first conveyance medium. The processing circuitry controls display of identification information that distinguishes and associates each one of a plurality of first conveyance media having defective images, with a corresponding one of a plurality of second conveyance media.

An image processing system includes an image forming device, a sensor, and processing circuitry. The image forming device forms an image on a first conveyance medium. The sensor acquires information about the image formed on the first conveyance medium by the image forming device. The processing circuitry performs ejection control to eject a second conveyance medium according to predetermined setting information in a case where the image formed on the first conveyance medium is a defective image, based on the information acquired by the sensor.

An inspection device includes a sensor and processing circuitry. The sensor acquires an image formed on a first conveyance medium. The processing circuitry determines whether the image on the first conveyance medium is defective, based on the image acquired by the sensor. The processing circuitry controls to eject a second conveyance medium in a case where the image on the first conveyance medium is defective. The processing circuitry controls to display an image formed on the second conveyance medium in association with information indicating the first conveyance medium determined to be defective.

An image reading device includes an image reader and circuitry. The image reader is configured to read an image on a recording medium. The circuitry is configured to obtain defective image information and defect type information based on the image on the recording medium read by the image reader, and determine an abnormality of the image on the recording medium based on the defective image information and the defect type information.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a reading unit, a heating unit, and an updating unit. An image processing apparatus includes a memory, a scanner, and a processor configured to: control the scanner to read an image formed on a sheet along a reading direction, and store data of the read image in the memory, determine a plurality of regions of the image, select one of the regions based on a whiteness or saturation level of color thereof, and add a first image indicating the reading direction to said one of the regions, and store data of the image to which the first image has been added in the memory.
